Job summary

SECURE is seeking a Technical Service Representative to coordinate, maintain and troubleshoot drilling fluids at customer sites across Alberta. This field-based role requires travel to diverse locations, strong safety awareness, and the ability to document field activities accurately.

You will report to the operations team, support drilling programs, and ensure equipment and fluids meet project specifications. A valid driver’s license and the ability to pass pre-employment checks are required.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of oilfield rig experience preferred.
  • Degree in PET or Engineering or equivalent.
  • Ability to troubleshoot drilling fluids with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Test physical and chemical properties of drilling fluids on site.
  • Recommend maintenance and adjustments to drilling fluids.
  • Coordinate and manage inventory for field operations.
  • Supervise drilling fluid activities and liaise with rig crews.
  • Communicate with head office on site status and needs.
  • Ensure accurate documentation and invoicing for on-site operations.
  • Be on-call with equipment and maintain safety protocols.

Your Opportunity at SECURE

As our Technical Service Representative, you will be responsible for the coordination, maintenance and troubleshooting of the drilling fluids and programs, at customers' locations SECURE’s Technical Service Representative (T.S.R.) is responsible for monitoring and maintaining the many different physical and chemical properties imperative to a successful project.

This role is field-based throughout Alberta.

Work Environment

This is a field-based role supporting drilling operations at customer sites, where safety, responsiveness, and technical precision are critical to successful well performance. Candidates must be comfortable working in field environments, traveling to site locations as required, and maintaining a valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driver’s abstract and the ability to complete required pre-employment testing.

A Day in The Life
  • Test the physical and chemical properties of drilling fluids
  • Recommend maintenance of drilling fluids
  • Coordinate and maintain inventory
  • Coordinate drilling fluid supervision
  • Communicate with rig crews
  • Communicate with head office
  • Report accurate well re-cap information
  • Complete all required paperwork from on-site operations up to and including invoicing
  • On call with equipment at all times
  • Be responsible for the company's equipment
  • Work Safely at all times
Skills, Experience & Qualifications
  • A minimum 3 years oilfield rig experience is preferred
  • PET or Engineering degree
  • Capable of working with little or no supervision and confident to troubleshoot fluid issues
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent computer skills
  • Good driving record required
  • All Safety Certifications – H2S, WHMIS, TDG, First Aid
