JOB – Technical Sales Engineer

LOCATION – Southampton

TERM - Permanent

SALARY - £35,000-£45,000 per annum, dependent on experience

My client designs and manufactures specialist solutions for engineering. They are seeking a Technical Sales Engineer with experience in Leak Detection to join their team in Southampton on a permanent basis.

The ideal candidate will have the following attributes:

1. Experience in / knowledge of Leak Detection
2. Ideally experienced in technical sales, with knowledge of quotations, technical specifications, and orders
3. Strong understanding of engineering projects
4. Knowledge of pipes, valves, pumps, etc. (preferred)
5. HNC / HND / BTEC / NVQ / Degree qualified in engineering or similar
6. Desire to develop within a long-term organization
7. Good time management skills
8. Self-motivated and driven
9. Proficient in Microsoft Office; CRM database knowledge is a plus
10. Excellent communication skills
11. Ability to work independently and as part of a team

The Sales Engineer will be responsible for:

1. Working directly with customers to understand requirements and produce quotations and orders
2. Understanding the technical aspects of product design and manufacturing
3. Processing and progressing sales
4. Responding to inquiries
5. Investigating and resolving sales inquiries from customers and distributors
6. Offering proactive account management for distributors and updating customers regularly
7. Collaborating with different departments and colleagues as needed
8. Opportunities for long-term growth within the company
