Kardium’s mission is to deliver the best treatment for atrial fibrillation. To achieve this, we have developed The Globe Pulsed Field System – we have a fantastic technical team that has developed a product with strong, unique, and customer-valued differentiators versus other solutions on the market. We have built connections with key opinion leaders who are already using the Globe System and are helping to tell our story.

We have now completed our pivotal clinical study and our focus is on regulatory approvals and commercial launch. This is an exciting and significant milestone in our journey to bring this ground-breaking technology to patients.

The successful candidate will have the exciting opportunity to be part of our growing team. Please note, this opportunity is a hybrid work arrangement, located in Burnaby, BC.

Meaningful work you will be a part of

Talent Acquisition, as part of the Talent function, is responsible for overseeing the full-cycle recruitment process. You will partner with Hiring Managers to strategize on best sourcing approaches, while also prioritizing the candidate experience.

Your responsibilities will be to:

  • Oversee/manage the entire recruitment cycle for technical roles with our interdisciplinary Engineering teams – in partnership with Hiring Managers
  • Support current and future business needs – develop and implement recruitment strategies and initiatives aligned with the overall business requirements
  • Provide an exceptional candidate experience to all applicants at every step in the interview process
  • Actively source and reach out to passive candidates on an ongoing basis to pipeline, and for difficult-to-fill roles
  • Conduct and schedule phone, in-person, and/or video conference interviews
  • Coordinate appropriate technical assessments
  • Prepare recruitment metric reporting
  • Assist with additional Talent-related projects

What you bring to the team

You will be successful in this role because you possess these attributes:

  • Proven experience recruiting for engineering and technical roles, ideally within a fast-paced R&D, manufacturing, or medical device environment (medical device industry experience is an asset but not required).
  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business, or a related field, with 3–7+ years of technical recruiting experience focused on hiring engineers across disciplines such as mechanical, electrical, software, systems, and quality.
  • Client-centric approach – prioritize strategic partnership and not just transactional hiring
  • Keen interest in Talent Acquisition related initiatives, such as employer branding, candidate experience, and campus/student recruitment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, along with an understanding of confidentiality and strong listening skills
  • Advanced MS Office skills (Word, Excel, and Outlook) with the ability and willingness to learn new applications

Compensation

Kardium has listed the total cash compensation range (base salary + 5% RRSP contribution) that we expect to pay applicants for this role, as of the time of this posting.

Pay offered will be determined based on numerous relevant business and candidate factors including, for example, education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, and business or organizational needs.

For candidates with more or less experience than listed above, the pay range will be adjusted.

As a permanent employee, you will also participate in Kardium’s stock option plan.

$75,000 – $100,000 (CAD Annually)

  • The total cash we’ve listed for this position includes a base salary, plus a contribution to a Registered Retirement Savings plans (RRSP) to help support your financial goals.
  • Comprehensive medical & dental coverage for all permanent employees – effective as of Day 1, with no waiting period.
  • Work-day flexibility – additionally, we provide 3 personal days per year.
