Job description

Technical Program Manager - Unified Communications (UC)

Global Relay Communications Inc.

For over 20 years, Global Relay has set the standard in enterprise information archiving with industry-leading cloud archiving, surveillance, eDiscovery, and analytics solutions. We securely capture and preserve the communications data of the world's most highly regulated firms, giving them greater visibility and control over their information and ensuring compliance with stringent regulations.

Though we offer competitive compensation and benefits and all the other perks one would expect from an established company, we are not your typical technology company. Global Relay is a career-building company. A place for big ideas. New challenges. Groundbreaking innovation. It's a place where you can genuinely make an impact - and be recognized for it.

We believe great businesses thrive on diversity, inclusion, and the contributions of all employees. To that end, we recruit candidates from different backgrounds and foster a work environment that encourages employees to collaborate and learn from each other, completely free of barriers.

We encourage you to apply if your qualifications and experience are a good fit for any of our openings.

Your role:

Project management staff ensure development, operations, and customer implementation projects are completed smoothly and efficiently.

A Program Manager manages horizontally across multiple Global Relay development projects; engaging with stakeholders and identifying and managing the interdependencies between project teams to ensure that cross-project work effort remains feasible and delivers business value. The Program Manager facilitates processes and supports program execution, escalates impediments, manages risk, and helps drive continuous improvement. Program Managers must have the ability to creatively define the project pacing and obtain incremental benefits before the program is complete.

Your responsibilities:
  • Lead project planning and coordination for key projects, working with product management on scope and component teams on delivery approach and phasing, using appropriate tools.
  • Compile work estimates, planning assumptions, and oversee component-specific release plans; socialize target milestones based on estimates.
  • Identify and coordinate cross-component and cross-product dependencies, tracking key project gates to completion.
  • Work with component teams and environment owners to ensure readiness and effective coordination for integration testing, moving towards increased agility.
  • Remove obstacles, ensure releases stay on schedule, and escalate issues as needed.
  • Manage delivery risks according to the company's risk management framework.
  • Track progress using Jira and other tools; resolve issues impacting plans.
  • Report progress in meetings following the company's project and program management framework.
  • Develop an understanding of product design, business logic, and architecture to support effective delivery.
  • Champion process improvements to enhance predictability and visibility.
  • Provide guidance in issue resolution and resource planning.
About you:
  • At least 3 years of full lifecycle software project management experience, including planning, risk management, and reporting.
  • Experience with Agile, Scrum, and hybrid methodologies.
  • Proven ability to drive cross-team initiatives and collaborate with remote teams.
  • Experience with product management and delivery tools like Jira, Productboard, or similar.
  • Self-motivated with strong organizational and stakeholder management skills.
  • Technical background through education and/or work experience.
  • Ability to delve into technical details and support SDLC processes.
  • Effective communication skills with technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to build positive relationships and challenge ways of working constructively.
  • Willingness to learn product logic and architecture independently.
  • Experience with SaaS, messaging platforms, or data integration (desirable).
  • Relevant certifications like PMP or Prince2 (desirable).
Compensation:

Pay range is based on factors like expertise, skills, education, and background. The range for Vancouver-based employees is $110,000 - $135,000 CAD annually, complemented by a comprehensive benefits package including health, wellness, vacation, bonuses, and RRSP matching. Additional perks include a subsidized meal program for Vancouver employees.

What you can expect:

Opportunities for growth, mentorship, and a supportive culture that values diversity and work-life balance. We support flexible and hybrid work arrangements to suit individual needs.
