We are seeking a highly experienced Sanctions Technical Product Owner to support the modernization and ongoing evolution of enterprise sanctions screening capabilities within payment processing environments. Job Description

We are seeking a highly experienced Sanctions Technical Product Owner to support the modernization and ongoing evolution of enterprise sanctions screening capabilities within payment processing environments. The successful candidate will possess deep expertise in SWIFT MT/MX messaging standards, ISO 20022, sanctions-integrated payment processing, and AI-assisted delivery practices.

This role will act as the bridge between business stakeholders, compliance, operations, architecture, and engineering teams — owning the product vision, backlog, and delivery of mission-critical sanctions solutions within a highly regulated financial services environment.

What will you do?

Key Responsibilities

  • Own the product backlog, roadmap, and delivery outcomes for sanctions screening and SWIFT message processing initiatives.
  • Lead requirements gathering and produce detailed HLRs, User Stories, Business Rules, NFRs, and Process Flows for SWIFT MT/MX scanning and integration.
  • Manage the full requirements lifecycle from discovery through implementation and validation.
  • Partner with Compliance and Risk teams to embed sanctions controls into SWIFT message processing workflows across multiple lines of business.
  • Map business requirements to data structures, system integrations, and API dependencies; support QA with acceptance criteria and defect validation.
  • Act as primary liaison between business, compliance, technology, and operations — driving consensus across competing priorities.
  • Apply AI tools (GitHub Copilot, Visual Studio Code) to accelerate backlog management, documentation, and analysis.
What do you need to succeed?

What You Bring

  • 5+ years of Technical Product Ownership or BSA experience in an Agile environment.
  • 5+ years operating within sanctions regulatory compliance and high-value payments ecosystems, with a solid grasp of the regulatory landscape, settlement flows, and the compliance controls that govern them.
  • Advanced knowledge of SWIFT MT/MX and ISO 20022 message standards (pain.001, pacs.004, pacs.008, pacs.009, camt.054, camt.110, camt.111, and related types).
  • Proven experience delivering sanctions screening and AML compliance requirements within payment platforms.
  • Strong Agile/SAFe delivery track record with ability to influence diverse stakeholder groups.
  • Hands-on experience with AI-assisted delivery tools (GitHub Copilot, Visual Studio Code).
  • Exceptional communication, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
