Job summary

TD Bank Group in Toronto is seeking a Technical Lead for the Reporting Platform. You will lead the development, support, and evolution of a large-scale data and reporting platform used across the Treasury & Balance Sheet Management team.

You will design and optimize MS SQL Server databases and data warehouses, build ETL pipelines, and contribute to cloud modernization initiatives including Azure migration. Strong leadership and data engineering expertise are essential.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in software development, database engineering, data engineering, or related technical disciplines.
• Hands-on Microsoft SQL Server development experience, including complex SQL development, data modeling, stored procedures, query optimization, and performance tuning.
• Experience with application development in Java/Spring Boot or C#/.Net.
• Experience building and supporting ETL, data integration, or data engineering solutions.
• Familiarity with Hadoop, Spark, Spark SQL, or other big data technologies.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and automated testing frameworks.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development, support, and enhancement of large reporting and data platforms.
• Design, develop, and optimize large-scale Microsoft SQL Server databases and data warehouses.
• Develop and support applications using modern software engineering practices.
• Design and maintain ETL and data processing pipelines in Big Data environments.
• Troubleshoot production issues and drive performance, scalability, and reliability improvements.
• Partner with business and technology stakeholders to deliver reporting and analytics solutions.
• Contribute to cloud modernization initiatives, including migration of data and reporting workloads to Azure-based platforms.
