Join us as a Technical Instructor, and you’ll be looking at a career-defining role based in Toronto (ON), CA.

This position, under the direction of the Training Supervisor, will develop Equipment Maintainers' skills in troubleshooting, unscheduled repairs, and scheduled maintenance tasks. The purpose of this position is to teach new staff the skills to maintain the equipment. When key defects or failure trends are noted, specific coaching plans will be developed and delivered. The ideal candidate has at least 4 years of experience in the work environment and has worked in various areas of the shop.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide on-the-job training (OJT) to maintenance staff in all aspects of the job.
  • Conduct formal classroom instruction.
  • Support and implement training sessions to improve skills, knowledge, and competencies of maintenance employees. Recommend changes to training programs, providing options for improvement and updating documentation.
  • Monitor equipment failures and review those failures against Maintenance Instructions to determine if skill improvement is required. Work closely with the Failure Supervisor and Analyst to aid in skill development of employees.
  • Monitor new hire progression during their probationary period.

REQUIRED PROFILE:

  • Education required: Grade 12.
  • 4 years of experience preferred.
  • Electrical knowledge is an asset.
  • Air conditioning knowledge is an asset.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Word, Excel, and Publisher.
  • Excellent command of English, both written and spoken.
  • Technical writing skills.
