Technical Infrastructure Analyst Term Position

We are currently hiring for a Technical Infrastructure Analyst to join our IT team. In this role, you will be part of a large IT organization working in a structured environment with a dynamic solution space. Your responsibilities will include providing day-to-day support and customer interaction for break-fix and troubleshooting issues, including proactive maintenance for applications and services. You will also support the design, analysis, planning, and implementation of IT projects covering data storage, backups, virtualization, collaboration, applications, networks, operating systems, security, and support processes. There are many opportunities to learn and grow with new services and technologies.

This position follows a hybrid working model, combining remote work with on-site support. Typically, you will be expected to work 2-3 days in the office each week to support business needs.

Duties and Tasks
  1. Analyze, detect, identify, and correct technical problems and deficiencies.
  2. Complete service requests, including updating and communicating with customers.
  3. Determine proper installation parameters for software and hardware to ensure smooth integration, transition, and efficiency.
  4. Install and configure software.
  5. Support hardware and operating systems.
  6. Apply updates, patches, and hotfixes to systems.
  7. Document hardware and software inventory.
  8. Create and document processes and procedures.
  9. Monitor and collect data on system performance.
  10. Assist and train customers.
  11. Ensure all devices meet or exceed security and corporate policy requirements.
  12. Contribute to the design and implementation of new technologies.
  13. Research errors using online resources.
  14. Maintain and update technical skill sets.
  15. Contribute to the design, implementation, and maintenance of disaster recovery plans for IT systems.
  16. Identify areas for improvement in IT infrastructure to meet evolving user and customer requirements.
  17. Develop key relationships and work with third-party vendors and peers from other General Dynamics business units.
  18. Provide after-hours support to ensure service availability, integrity, and the introduction of new and existing services.
Qualifications
  • University degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline, or a college diploma with significant IT infrastructure support experience.
  • 4-5 years of related experience.
  • Certifications in relevant fields are an asset.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Canadian Security Clearance and a positive Controlled Goods Assessment. Eligibility to work in Canada as a Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident.
  • Technical knowledge in areas such as:
    • Microsoft Server Editions
    • Microsoft Active Directory
    • Tenable/Nessus
    • Microsoft Azure/M365/O365
    • Citrix
    • BigFix
    • VMware Virtual Environment
