AAA Canada seeks a Technical Expert, Engineering - EWIS Integrator in Montreal to act as a technical authority and lead design strategy for EWIS integration, including 3D harness definition and installation compliance.

You will coordinate with cross-functional teams, review harness proposals, and ensure alignment with certification requirements while guiding architecture and governance. Fluency in English is required; French is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor-level engineering degree required or equivalent, with aerospace specialization preferred.
• Minimum 15 years of relevant aeronautical/engineering experience.

Responsibilities

• EWIS design and integration.
• Develop and review 3D EWIS harness proposals, routing, supports, components placement and installation drawings.
• Coordinate 3D installation with electrical schematics and aircraft zone constraints.
• Collaborate with harness manufacturers and engineering teams to resolve routing conflicts and ensure compliance with design and certification.
• Manage design changes and maintain PLM data.

Job description

As a Technical Expert, Engineering - EWIS Integrator, you will act as a technical authority, shape design strategy, and lead enterprise-level technical alignment and capability development. Your work will focus on the physical integration of electrical wiring interconnection systems, including 3D harness definition, components, supports, interfaces, and installation compliance

What are your contributions to the team?

• EWIS design and integration
• Develop and review 3D EWIS harness proposals, routing, supports, component placement, assemblies, as well as installation and detail drawings.
• Support the selection and integration of EWIS components, connectors, backshells, clamps, supports, conduits, and protection devices.
• Apply applicable rules for separation and segregation, clearance, bend radius, support spacing, accessibility, maintainability, and environment.
• Electrical and physical interface coordination
• Coordinate 3D installation with electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, harness definitions, equipment interfaces, and aircraft zone constraints.
• Collaborate closely with harness manufacturers, electrical systems, structures, loads and constraints, interiors, methods, manufacturing, thermodynamics, safety, electromagnetic effect specialists, mass properties, and other relevant functions.
• Resolve routing conflicts, interface discrepancies, installation sequence issues, and manufacturability problems with internal teams and partners.
• Maturity, compliance, and support
• Review EWIS layouts, installations, assemblies, and detailed definitions to ensure compliance with applicable design and certification requirements.
• Provide technical solutions to design, manufacturing, supplier, testing, and service issues, including root cause analyses and corrective actions.
• Manage design changes, evaluate technical, cost, schedule, mass, and risk impacts, and maintain configuration data in the applicable PLM environment.

Role-specific contribution

• Act as the discipline's technical authority for the most complex or high-impact integration issues.
• Guide architecture and design strategy, resolve cross-functional technical risks, and provide authoritative recommendations to management.
• Develop organizational capabilities through governance, standards, mentoring, knowledge transfer, and external technical alignment.

Education and experience

• Bachelor's degree in aerospace, mechanical, electrical engineering, or another relevant discipline, depending on the position.
• Minimum of 15 years of relevant experience in aeronautical engineering or a related industry.

Technical knowledge

• EWIS installation, 3D harness definition, and component integration
• Separation and segregation rules, bend radii, support spacing, protection, accessibility, and environmental constraints
• Electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, harness manufacturing, installation, and inspection
• EWIS certification principles, technical drawings, configuration management, and mass management

Tools and methods

• CATIA V5, including applicable electrical workbenches, ENOVIA, and the MS Office suite; knowledge of NX and Teamcenter is an asset.
• Knowledge of PLM processes, product definition, engineering change, and configuration management corresponding to the level.

• Good judgment, analytical and problem-solving skills, organizational sense, and accountability.
