Job summary

AAA Canada is seeking a Technical Expert, Engineering – Aerostructures Integrator for Mirabel, QC to drive the definition and review of structural concepts, 3D models, and installation drawings for assigned aircraft zones. The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in aerospace, mechanical, or electrical engineering and a minimum of 15 years in aeronautical engineering, with strong knowledge of structural design principles, GD&T, and CATIA V5.

English is mandatory; French is an asset.

Job Offer: Technical Expert, Engineering – Aerostructures Integrator

Location: Mirabel (QC)
Company: AAA Canada (mandate for a major player in aeronautics)
Expected Start Date: September 2026
Type: Part-time (2 to 3 days / week), duration 6 to 12 months

Main Responsibilities

  • Develop and review structural concepts, 3D models, assemblies, installation drawings, and detail drawings for assigned aircraft zones.
  • Define metallic and composite parts, joints, interfaces, fastening concepts, tolerances, and provisions according to applicable design requirements.
  • Apply good design practices regarding load paths, manufacturability, assembly, inspection, maintainability, weight, and cost.

Technical Integration and Collaboration

  • Coordinate structural definition with loads and stress, materials and processes, systems installation, aerodynamics, interiors, manufacturing, quality, and other concerned disciplines.
  • Resolve geometric and physical interface conflicts and support technical trade-off studies.
  • Participate in design reviews and clearly communicate design intent, assumptions, constraints, and open points.

Maturity, Compliance, and Support

  • Support justification and certification activities by providing complete and traceable design definition as well as technical justification.
  • Support production, supplier, and in-service investigations, including root cause analysis and design corrective actions.
  • Manage design changes and maintain product configuration and definition data in the applicable PLM environment.

Level‑Specific Contribution

  • Act as the technical authority of the discipline for the most complex or high‑impact integration issues.
  • Guide architecture and design strategy, resolve cross‑functional technical risks, and provide authoritative recommendations to management.
  • Develop organizational capabilities through governance, standards, mentoring, knowledge transfer, and external technical alignment.

Required Qualifications:

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in aerospace, mechanical, electrical engineering, or another relevant discipline, depending on the position.
  • Minimum of 15 years of relevant experience in aeronautical engineering or a related industry.

Technical Knowledge

  • Structural configuration and detailed aircraft design
  • Metallic and composite design principles, joints, fasteners, tolerancing, and GD&T
  • Technical drawings, 3D definition, manufacturability, assembly, and inspection
  • Materials, processes, aeronautical design standards, certification principles, and configuration management

Tools and Methods

  • CATIA V5, ENOVIA, and MS Office suite; knowledge of NX and Teamcenter is an asset.
  • Knowledge of PLM processes, product definition, engineering change, and configuration management corresponding to the level.

Leadership and Behavioral Skills

  • Clear and professional written and verbal communication.
  • Collaborative approach with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Good judgment, analytical and problem‑solving skills, organizational sense, and accountability.
  • Ability to coordinate priorities and provide constructive technical direction.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence technical decisions and act as a mentor.

Languages

  • Mastery of English (mandatory).
  • French is an asset.
