Shared Health leads the planning and coordinates the integration of patient- centered clinical and preventive health services across Manitoba. The organization also delivers some province-wide health services and supports centralized administrative and business functions for Manitoba health organizations.
As a member of the Diagnostic Services (DS) leadership team, the Technical Director - Laboratory Services is responsible for leading the planning, coordinating, and evaluating the province-wide model of service delivery in the relevant area of specialty. The incumbent participates in planning, budgeting, policy setting, and quality improvement activities, and will collaborate with the Operational Directors, Finance, HR, Quality Department, and other team members while also responsible for coordinating, implementing, and monitoring standards, methodologies and procedures as established at a provincial level. At each hospital site/RHA, this position liaises and works with the local regional/hospital administration, program and management staff as well as the Diagnostic Services Directors and Managers.
The Technical Director - Laboratory Services, acting in concert with the Medical Director and the Site/Regional Directors/Managers is responsible for their respective laboratory discipline.
This position requires a current satisfactory Criminal Records Check (including Vulnerable Sector Search), Child Abuse Registry Check and Adult Abuse Registry Check as conditions of employment. The successful candidate will be responsible for any service charges incurred. A security check is considered current if it was obtained no more than six (6) months prior to the start of employment.
