Shared Health leads the planning and coordinates the integration of patient- centered clinical and preventive health services across Manitoba. The organization also delivers some province-wide health services and supports centralized administrative and business functions for Manitoba health organizations.


Position Overview

Lead a team of technical and clinical support staff in the provincially integrated delivery of diagnostic operations. Inspire and lead laboratory staff across the organization to embrace and adopt integrated, patient-centred care pathways and service delivery models. Provide service-delivery focused operational leadership to laboratory and imaging operational services, partnering closely with the senior leadership of the diagnostic operations (Discipline team) and executive (Provincial Medical Specialty Lead of Laboratory Medicine & Provincial Medical Specialty Lead for Radiology, Executive Director - Provincial Lab Operations as well as the Executive Director for Diagnostic Imaging Operations) to support the operation of a leading edge, efficient, and high-quality service in line with the values of the organization.


Experience


  • 7 years of progressive management experience leading a broad spectrum of diagnostic operations in a large, publicly funded Diagnostic Operations delivery organization including:


    • 5 years of direct diagnostic operations delivery across one or more assigned geographic areas, such as:


      • Primary health and community diagnostic services (Lab and Diagnostic Imaging)

      • Acute inpatient, specialty care and complex ambulatory settings

      • Integrating innovative diagnostics-based care models to optimize efficiency and to deliver high quality care



  • 3 years of management experience leading a diagnostic health service (laboratory and/or Imaging, and/or non-invasive cardiac testing).

  • 3 years of experience participating in operational planning, implementing operational directives, and achieving formal quality, patient safety, service integration and partner collaboration goals and objectives.

  • 3 years of experience building and leading a high-performing, diagnostics team in a publicly funded diagnostic operations delivery organization including influencing and collaborating with senior management.


Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)


  • Post-secondary degree in a relevant health discipline from an accredited education institution.

  • Post-graduate degree is an asset.


Certification/Licensure/Registration


  • Active member of an associated regulatory body as appropriate.


Qualifications And Skills


  • Demonstrated comprehensive senior leadership capabilities. The provincial health system in Manitoba has adopted the LEADS in a Caring Environment framework.


Physical Requirements


  • Must be able to work safely in a typical computerized office environment with frequent meetings, and to lift and carry items of up to approximately 10kgs (25 pounds).

  • Interruptions to respond to questions from senior management in the organization, third-party compliance bodies, and vendors are common; incumbent is able to schedule dedicated and focused time for planning and concentration.

  • Must have a valid Manitoba driver’s license and use of a personal motor vehicle for regular travel within the province.
