TECHNICAL ARTIST

This team is seeking an experienced and motivated Technical Artist, with a proven track record in collaborating with peers to develop and maintain high quality tools, pipelines, systems and runtime performance. In this position you are responsible for working with the Technical Art team to ensure real-time gameplay maintains high visual quality yet remains performant and functional. It is important that you have good communication skills and work collaboratively with peers.

Responsibilities:

  1. Proactively work with other disciplines to identify pain points in workflow and help determine solutions for them
  2. Run-time performance – work with art teams to reduce content complexity, lighting cost, draw calls, etc. where appropriate, while maintaining visual quality
  3. Use pix to identify content performance concerns and communicate over-budget assets out to the respective teams
  4. Work with Level Art team to help identify and troubleshoot any performance issues in Environments
  5. Work with Technical Animation team to help identify and troubleshoot any animation related issues
  6. Work with Character art team to help identify and troubleshoot character specific problems (Morph targets, materials/shaders, etc.)
  7. Educating, creating technical documentation, and communicating with external vendors
  8. Fix bugs in the game as they are reported

Qualifications:

  1. Strong knowledge of production pertaining to video games
  2. The ability to problem-solve, specifically test and debug technical issues
  3. Strong knowledge of Unreal 4 or equivalent engine
  4. Strong knowledge of shader creation and optimization
  5. Scripting/programming in python, C# and C++
