Join our passionate team and help us to achieve great things in our community!As part of the IT technical support team, the Technical Analyst performs assignments related to the implementation, operation and support of the IT infrastructure systems; is responsible for providing technical support to end user requests by identifying, prioritizing, tracking and providing resolution to user’s infrastructure problems; is responsible for the setup, installation, and configuration of hardware and software for new locations as well as managing moves, adds and changes to existing locations.

In this role, you will :

  • Facilitate “helpdesk” support for all information technology related queries and problems including hardware and software related issues and provides a high level of service responsive to user needs.
  • Troubleshoot problems with network, user, hardware and / or software, selects, and implement appropriate action.
  • Provide instruction to staff when new acquisitions, upgrades or changes are made.
  • Provide 24 / 7 emergency support on a rotation basis.
  • Assist in the implementation of new infrastructure projects by providing technical expertise and support to IT team members.
  • Demonstrate appropriate behaviours in line with our Mission, Vision and Values as reflected in our YMCA competencies; take a member focused approach to increase their understanding of programs offered across the Association. Represent the YMCA and the Association in a professional manner.
  • Ensure the health, safety and well-being of all children, youth and vulnerable people in YMCA programs. Commit to the professional responsibility of maintaining knowledge of legislation, policies and procedures, child and youth developmentand best practices to best serve and protect children, youth, and vulnerable people.
  • Perform other duties as assigned

What you need to succeed :

  • Commitment to the YMCA’s Mission, Vision and Values
  • Focus on the health, safety and wellbeing of all children, youth, and vulnerable people in YMCA programs including understanding legal and moral obligations related to reporting suspected child abuse to Child Protection Services
  • YMCA Competencies : Accountable, Relationship-Builder, Improvement-Orientated, Team Player & Leader, Equity and Wellbeing Promoter

You bring :

  • A computer science or related degree preferred
  • A minimum of two (2) years’ experience supporting corporate wide IT infrastructure systems and services as a Support Analyst or Help Desk Agent
  • Minimum technical certification MCP; MCITP : Enterprise Desktop Administrator
  • ITIL v3 Foundations certification is preferred
  • Requires knowledge and understanding of the following technologies :
  • Server Applications including MS SQL 2005 and 2008, Microsoft Office 365 Cloud based applications, Terminal Services, XenApp, VMWare ESXi
  • Windows Operating Systems : Windows Server 2008 and 2012, Windows 10, Windows 7
  • Server Administration / Technologies including : Active Directory (AD), DNS, DHCP
  • Network Technologies / Protocols / Security including Ethernet, TCP / IP, IPSEC, 802.11g / n, wireless, and cabling
  • BackupExec, Ivanti Security Suite
  • Incident Management software – Jira ServiceDesk, Confluence, Insight
  • Blackbaud’s suite of products, including Raiser’s Edge, Financial Edge and Advanced Budget Management
  • Microsoft SharePoint Online, Social Solutions ETO, Raisin and other online applications within the online portfolio
  • Active Network’s Class Membership & Program system is an asset
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability as a technical / computer trainer
  • Understanding of YMCA business practices and procedures is an asset
  • Highly organized with strong follow-up skills
  • On-call availability to support business systems, database, web and internet services, on a scheduled rotation
  • Access to a motor vehicle is a must for this position, as travel within the region is required
  • Flexibility regarding work hours, including evenings and weekends
  • Ability to work in an efficient manner independently and as part of a team
  • Well-developed interpersonal, and relationship building skills; ability to establish rapport and excellent communication with members, staff and volunteers
  • Excellent understanding of diversity, inclusion and equity including the ability to identify and address barriers, work effectively with diverse stakeholders, and integrate equity into program design
