Groupe SM Tardif, an innovative company that has been active in the construction and metals industry for over 45 years, is looking for a Technical Advisor for its subsidiary, Tardif Metal.

Profile sought

• Diploma of Vocational Studies (DVS) in Welding and Fitting, or relevant training in the field;
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in steel structures or metal fabrication;
• Strong ability to read blueprints, shop drawings, and welding symbols;
• Comfortable with computer tools, including Excel, the Mobilis suite, and traceability tools;
• Demonstrated autonomy, resourcefulness, and excellent technical judgment;
• Strong attention to detail and rigor;
• Team-oriented mindset;
• Knowledge of English (an asset).

Roles and responsabilities

• Review and validate customer drawings to ensure compliance with standards, specifications, and manufacturing requirements;
• Work closely with detailers, estimators, and project managers to ensure project manufacturability;
• Take part in technical reviews prior to production launch and identify potential risks or discrepancies;
• Optimize and adjust production programs to improve productivity and operational efficiency;
• Participate in assembly trials, carry out required validations, and recommend necessary adjustments;
• Actively contribute to the continuous improvement of manufacturing methods and operational practices;
• Serve as a technical resource person for production and manufacturing teams.
