Job summary

Volant Products Inc. in Calgary, Alberta, is seeking a Technical Account Manager, Well Construction, to drive strategic sales and deliver technical outcomes by integrating Volant solutions with operator teams.

Reporting to the VP of Sales, Business Development, and Marketing, you will cultivate strong operator relationships, translate complex insights into actionable solutions, and contribute to revenue growth both domestically and internationally.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in oil and gas, with drilling and well construction knowledge.
  • Degree or diploma in a mechanical or technical discipline.
  • Ability to engage in technical discussions with Operator teams to identify opportunities and articulate Volant’s value.
  • Experience in account management or customer-facing roles in oil and gas.
  • Proven ability to achieve strategic goals and deliver results.
  • Excellent negotiation, presentation, communication, influencing, and team-building skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple opportunities and attention to detail.
  • Proficient in MS Office, ERP, and CRM software.
  • Willingness to travel internationally.

Your role with us:

Reporting to the VP, Sales, Business Development, and Marketing, the Technical Account Manager, Well Construction is responsible for developing and executing strategic sales plans, delivering technical outcomes that integrate solutions, and generating new business opportunities. At the intersection of technology, innovation, and business strategy, this critical role enables the flow of ideas and expertise across Volant’s integrated teams and working closely with technical leaders and operating companies to identify opportunities, translate complex insights into actionable solutions, and drive the adoption of technologies that create competitive advantage and long-term value. The Technical Account Manager, Well Construction will cultivate strong operator customer relationships, ensure effective service and technical solutions delivery, and contribute to overall revenue growth within the assigned territory.

You will bring to the role:
  • Minimum 5 years of experience working in the oil and gas industry, with strong understanding of drilling operations, tubular running, and well construction.
  • Degree or diploma in a mechanical or relevant technical discipline.
  • Demonstrated ability to engage in technical discussion with Operator drilling and completions teams to increase our awareness of opportunities and to deliver Volant’s insights and technology value proposition[DD3] .
  • Experience in account management or customer-interfacing roles within the oil and gas industry.
  • Demonstrated ability to achieve strategic goals and deliver results.
  • Excellent negotiation, presentation, communication, influencing, and team-building skills.
  • Strong organizational abilities with a track record of managing multiple opportunities simultaneously and maintaining attention to detail.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, ERP and CRM software.
  • Ability to travel internationally.
