Job summary

Waterloo Region District School Board is seeking a Secondary Teacher for the Tech - Construction/Woodworking course at Eastwood C.I. from September 2, 2026 to November 27, 2026. The assignment may be partial or full as determined by the Board and is subject to QECO qualification verification.

Applicants must have OCT qualifications in the assigned subject and submit a current Certificate of Qualification with their Apply to Education application before 12:00 p.m. on the closing date.

Job description

3 LTO sections (1.0 FTE) of Tech - Construction/Woodworking at Eastwood C.I, from September 2, 2026 to and including November 27, 2026. ** Please note, September 4, 2026 is an unpaid, non-teaching day.**

Applicants must hold OCT qualifications in the assigned subject in order to be eligible to apply to this Long-term Occasional vacancy. This posting is open to Secondary Occasional Teachers on the WRDSB Occasional Teacher Roster and external applicants. Applicants will be considered in the following order:

1) Secondary Occasional Teachers on the OT Roster

2) External applicants

This job may be assigned in whole or in part at the discretion of the school. Individuals in an assignment for a period of time that extends into the assignment of the long-term occasional position posted herein are not eligible to apply.

An application must include an attachment with a copy of a current Certificate of Qualification and may include other documents the candidate chooses to submit.

The pay range for Secondary Teacher, LTO or Contract, is in accordance with legislation. Placement on the salarygrid will be determined on QECO category and years of experience. Successful candidates will initially be placed at the starting step but may be eligible for higher placement on the salarygrid upon submission of the required documentation verifying QECO category and/or prior related experience as approved by the Board, as outlined in this chart.
