Job summary

Welch LLP is seeking a Manager for Audit & Assurance in Ottawa. The role is hybrid with in-office expectation minimum 3 days a week, focusing on leading assurance, accounting and tax services for private and public clients within a tech-focused team.

You will work with high-growth tech clients on complex reporting across ASPE, IFRS and US GAAP, guiding staff, managing engagement budgets, and developing business opportunities in a dynamic market.

Qualifications

• Completion of a University Degree is required.
• CPA, CA or equivalent designation obtained or near completion preferred.
• Minimum of 4 years of public accounting experience.
• Minimum 2 years as a mid-level Manager in a Public Accounting Firm.
• Strong client service orientation with ability to meet reporting timelines.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills.
• Experience with assurance, accounting and tax software.
• Experience supervising staff.

Responsibilities

• Manage accounting, assurance and tax service needs of a portfolio of private and public clients.
• Oversee engagement process from scheduling and planning to client review and sign-off.
• Meet with clients regarding financial statements and engagement issues.
• Support personal and corporate tax filings.
• Discuss proposed time budgets with partners and staff.
• Identify new business opportunities with clients.
• Manage and mentor a team of Accountants.
• Ensure reporting deadlines are monitored and met.
• Work with high-growth tech clients providing strategic insights.
• Manage a team of Staff Accountants.
• Identify new business opportunities with new clients.
