Job summary

RONA in Milton, Ontario is seeking a Forklift Operator for a Sunday to Thursday night shift (4:45 PM – 1:15 AM). This contract runs July 27, 2026 to October 1, 2026, with duties loading/unloading vehicles, preparing orders and securing loads for transport.

Preferred qualifications include prior MHE experience (Reach/Walkie) and a focus on safety, routine vehicle maintenance, inspections and assisting drivers as needed. This role emphasizes teamwork, accuracy and adherence to load safety.

Responsibilities

• Operate forklift, load and unload vehicles, transport material and prepare loads for delivery.
• Perform routine and regular preventative maintenance of vehicle and report repairs.
• Complete forklift inspection sheets daily and check loads for accuracy.
• Prepare orders for delivery and secure material per shipping memo.
• Load vehicles while considering safety, damage prevention and routing.
• Receive returned material and manage stock or re-delivery as directed.
• Act as Driver’s Helper when required and assist with unloading.
• Adhere to safety procedures and perform other duties as required.

Your Role

• Operate forklift, consistently practicing safe operating habits to load and unload vehicles, transport material and prepare loads for delivery.
• Perform routine and regular preventative maintenance of vehicle, advising supervisor of required repairs.
• Complete forklift inspection sheet daily.
• Prepare orders for delivery including identifying, locating and securing material as per shipping memo and completing paperwork.
• Build and arrange customer orders and load them onto vehicle, giving consideration to safety/security of load, minimizing potential for damage in transport, order of use by customer and routing of vehicle; secure load to vehicle.
• Receive returned material, complete sold sticker for re-delivery or return material to stock as directed.
• Check prepared loads for accuracy and completeness, taking required measures to correct as needed.
• Act as a Driver’s Helper as required, assisting driver with manually unloading and transporting material.
• Perform other job‑related duties as required.
