Aurora Cannabis Inc. is seeking a Team Member, Cultivation to support plant propagation and cannabis cultivation activities at the Bradford facility. You will assist with cloning, rooting, and daily plant care to promote healthy growth and high-quality yields.

The role requires basic propagation knowledge, physical stamina to work in warm environments, and the ability to follow SOPs and safety protocols. Training opportunities and a collaborative team environment are available.

Responsibilities

Job summary

The Team Member, Cultivation is responsible for supporting plant propagation and cannabis cultivation activities, including cloning, rooting, and daily plant care. This role helps maintain plant health and supports healthy growth throughout all stages of cultivation at the Aurora River facility.

• Participate in the continuous scouting and monitoring of the crop for health,pestand diseases.
• Release biological control agents (BCA’s) as part of the Integrated Pest Management (IPM) program.
• Communicate and escape all issues with the crop and/or the production process to all the relevant parties asrequired.
• Participate in cultivation related activities such as pruning, defoliating, crop maintenance,harvestingand cycle turnover asrequired.
• Where applicable, must adhere to Aurora's SOPs and comply withHealth Canada’s Cannabis Act. In addition, must adhere to all ISO requirements and the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA)
• Where applicable, promote and maintain GMP requirements.
• Recognize unsafe conditions and practices and make corrections to prevent injuries and product loss.
• Ability to perform tasks in warm environments under direct illumination from grow lights, while consistently adhering to the use of required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
• Other duties asrequired.
• Assist in cloning, cutting, transplanting, and maintaining plants during the propagation process.
• Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure consistency and quality in the propagation phase.

Plant Care and Monitoring:

• Monitor and maintain the health and growth of propagated plants, including watering, transplanting, pruning, defoliating, and crop maintenance as required.
• Report any signs of disease, pests, or abnormalities to the propagation lead.
• Assist in maintaining cleanliness, organization, and sanitation in the propagation area to prevent contamination and ensure optimal plant growth conditions.
• Aid in cleaning and sanitizing tools and equipment used in propagation processes.

Documentation and Record-keeping:

• Collaborate with the propagation leads to document tasks performed and report any issuesencountered.

Biosecurity & Quality

• Adhere to strict sanitation and cross contamination policies to ensure top quality of plants.
• Learn and understand cross contamination risks in cultivation and adhere to strict SOP compliance to reduce biosecurity risks.

Accountabilities:

• Support in executing propagation tasks andmaintainingthe health and consistency of propagated plants.
• Adherence to safety regulations, sanitation practices, andaccuratedocumentation of propagation activities.

Knowledge and Skills:

• Basic understanding of plant propagation techniques, cloning, rooting, and early growth stages in a cultivation setting.
• Ability to follow instructions accurately, work efficiently within a team, and communicate observations to supervisors.
• Attention to detail in plant monitoring, recording observations, and maintaining cleanliness in the propagation area.
• Basic understanding of contamination and cross contamination in a cultivation setting.
• Familiarity with safety protocols and compliance regulations in a cultivation environment, especially in propagation processes.
• Ability to work in warm environments, lift minimum 30lbs.
• Able to work on ladders and stand for long periods of time.
• Able to push, pull, bend and lift.
• Able to squat and stand.

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent education.
• Previous experience in plant care, propagation, or a related field is beneficial but not mandatory.
• Training or certifications in horticulture, agriculture, or propagation techniques are advantageous
• Grower Pesticide Safety Course completed would be an asset.
• Strong communicationand problem-solving skills.

• Must be able to work unsupervised

Working Conditions:

• Most/all working hours will be spentinproduction.
• Full PPE is to beworn at all timesduring working hours.Includes booties, coveralls, gloves, hairnets, glasses, surgicalmask, beard nets, CSA safety shoes, and certain duties also require use ofhalfface respirator.
• Physical effort isrequired, lifting, pushing, and pulling up to 30 lbs.
• Repetitive hand-based work and long durations standing at ground level and elevated surfaces.
• Ability to climb a ladder and work on ladders for long periods, with some minimal seated work.
• Temperatures range from 20 degrees Celsius to 32 degrees Celsius with the humidity 50-70%.
• Ability to work weekends, holidays and after hours asrequired.
• Ability to work with chemicals and pesticides, asrequired.

This role is in one of Aurora’s Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) certified plants and works directly with products. Towards the end of the recruitment process, we require that you undergo a medical screening exam with our third-party vendor.
