Team Lead in our Fixed Income team, you will drive operational efficiency and risk reduction across daily operations. You will ensure all assigned transactions are settled and processed accurately, support senior management with strategic projects, and contribute to the professional development of your team members.
What is the opportunity?
As Team Lead, you will serve as a figurehead, driving efficiency and risk reduction. Your operational responsibilities include settling or processing all assigned transactions on a daily basis, and you will guide a team of Analysts toward established departmental goals.

- Ensure all transactions are settled or processed on a daily basis in a timely and accurate manner
- Assist in leading a team of Analysts to meet departmental goals and support senior management with projects and team development
What will you do?
- Work in a team environment that fosters a learning culture
- Possess in-depth knowledge of the products and services within the department and act as the primary referral point for employees
- Provide specific assistance and feedback to fellow employees, both positive and constructive, for development purposes
- Aid in managing volumes and organizing workflow of the team
- Remain up to date on a number of desks to back‑fill throughout the year
- Work independently on assigned tasks within the team
- Possess strong knowledge of various products and systems required for daily responsibilities
- Ensure adherence to policies, procedures, standards, and guidelines, and maintain processes and controls to minimize operational risk
AUTHORITIES, IMPACT, RISK
- Discretionary decision making on settlement location; all other details are provided from FO
- Disclose trade details, confirmations, and settlement location to relevant parties
- Advise relevant parties of any discrepancies found regarding their trades or reconciliations
- Other Team Leads, department staff, and ad‑hoc issue resolution
- Support clients such as Capital Markets, Correspondent Services, IAO, GAT in ensuring trades are pre‑matched and avoid settlement issues
- Maintain daily tasks and ensure systems are operational for day‑to‑day work, assisting the Manager and Fed Income Purchase and Sales as needed
KEY RELATIONSHIPS
- Associate Director, Manager, and other Team Leads to ensure day‑to‑day tasks are completed
- Clients in Capital Markets, Correspondent Services, IAO, GAT for pre‑matched trades and settlement readiness
- Financial Institutions and Brokers to pre‑match trades and avoid settlement issues
- Third‑Party Service Providers to ensure systems perform day‑to‑day tasks
What you need to succeed?
- Post‑secondary education or equivalent experience
- Strong knowledge of internal trading, accounting, and settlement systems such as Impact, BPS, BONY, FICC, E‑Web, etc.
- Strong knowledge of Fixed Income products
- Ability to work independently and solve problems using knowledge and experience
- Excellent analytical, professionalism, organizational, and prioritization skills
- Strong computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office products
- Ability to create VBA/Macros is an asset
