We’re looking for a Team Lead, URD to join our team! As Team Lead, you’ll oversee all electrical URD design and coordination with stakeholders to keep projects on track and aligned with requirements. You’ll provide daily leadership and technical direction to a team of engineers, planners, and technologists — helping them perform at their best.

The Team Lead plays a key role in ensuring the team operates efficiently, utilizes the right tools and processes, and develops their skills through training and mentorship — all while staying accountable to our customers.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Support & develop the URD Engineering team’s technical and customer service capabilities so that they are accountable and easy to work with.

  • Ensure all applicable engineering, industry and ENMAX Corporation standards, codes, regulations and public safety are applied in designs.

  • Assign, supervise, and manage Distribution URD engineering workload.

  • Manage day to day operations of the design team to meet business objectives.

  • Provide technical and process guidance to team members to facilitate the completion of assigned tasks, including establishing and maintaining any required URD engineering processes.

  • As a subject matter expert, contribute to the development, implementation, and maintenance of best practices and processes that ensure projects are designed and estimated in a manner that mitigates construction risks, meets stakeholder requirements and business financial objectives.

  • Provide technical input/support for internal stakeholders, such as Project Management, Regulatory, Office of the Chief Engineer, etc., as required.

  • Understand departmental financial goals and manage projects to accomplish those goals.

  • Support other business lines across Project Delivery.

Education Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or equivalent

  • Registration as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng) or Professional Licensee (P.L. Eng) in Engineering through APEGA (The Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta)

Qualifications & Experience:

  • In depth knowledge of the technical requirements within their line of business

  • Distribution system design & project management experience

Competencies:

  • Strong verbal and written communications skills appropriate for business

  • Strong leadership & organizational skills with experience in negotiation & conflict resolution in a project-based environment

  • Continued commitment to developing supervisory & leadership skills

  • Multiple stakeholder coordination

Location: This role will be part of our hybrid (home and office) work force with office workspace located at ENMAX Place (141 - 50th Avenue SE, Calgary, AB). You will work from home on Mondays and Fridays and in the office on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.
