Job summary

Marshall Land Systems in Moncton, NB is seeking a Team Lead - Quality Control to guide the QC team, coordinate inspections, and manage escalations under the Senior Quality Manager.

You will inspect components and finished products against drawings, support calibration activities, drive continuous improvement through KPI trends, and mentor technicians in a Canadian ISO 9001 environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum experience in a quality control role.
• Post-secondary education in a related field or equivalent experience.
• Experience in ISO 9001 manufacturing environment.
• Strong English communication and interpersonal skills.
• Auditing experience (internal/lead auditor preferred).
• Familiar with lean manufacturing principles (5S, Kanban, SMED).
• Ability to read engineering drawings and BOMs.
• Knowledge of ERP systems; IFS is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Conduct inspections of components against drawings and specs using a variety of measuring equipment.
• Perform inspection of components, sub-assemblies and finished products at process stages.
• Complete Non-conformance documentation where required.
• Build and Coordinate Acceptance Testing Scheduling.
• Provide support to product acceptance activities.
• Develop, maintain and support calibration system and conduct calibration of basic measuring equipment.
• Use KPI trends to identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
• Provide supervision, assignment / monitoring of tasks, and coaching.
• Support in the development of individualized objectives and clear accountabilities for Quality Control Technicians.
• Support in the provision of individually tailored development support to enable growth, address performance / conduct concerns, conduct performance reviews for Quality Control Technicians.
• Provide quality systems and audit preparation training.
• Internal product non-conformity handling .
• Other duties as assigned.

Marshall Land Systems is seeking a Team Lead - Quality Control to join our team in Moncton, NB. Reporting to the Senior Quality Manager, this role provides leadership and direction to the Quality Control team, including the allocation of tasks, training, guidance, and management of escalations (approximately 60% of the workload).

The Team Lead - Quality Control will also support the Quality Control department through the inspection of products, sub-assemblies, and components across various projects, ensuring compliance with established quality standards and requirements.

Your responsibilities in this role:

• Conduct inspections of supplied components against drawings, appropriate specifications and internal work instructions using a variety of measuring equipment.
• Perform physical and visual inspection of components, sub-assemblies and finished products at process stages.
• Complete Non-conformance documentation where required.
• Build and Coordinate Acceptance Testing Scheduling.
• Provide support to product acceptance activities.
• Develop, maintain and support calibration system and conduct calibration of basic measuring equipment according to prescribed schedule.
• Use KPI trends to identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
• Provide supervision, assignment / monitoring of tasks, and coaching.
• Support in the development of individualized objectives and clear accountabilities for Quality Control Technicians.
• Support in the provision of individually tailored development support to enable growth, address performance / conduct concerns, conduct performance reviews for Quality Control Technicians.
• Provide quality systems and audit preparation training.
• Internal product non-conformity handling .
• Other duties as assigned.

Apply if you have most of the following:

• Proven experience in a quality control role.
• Post secondary education in a related field, or equivalent experience Manufacturing/Production Engineering or Quality Systems qualifications, or equivalent experience.
• Experience working in an ISO 9001 certified manufacturing facility or company.
• Effective verbal and written English communication skills, strong interpersonal skills, superior organizational abilities, and excellent computer skills.
• Proven experience as Internal Auditor, Lead Auditor experience preferred.
• Thorough knowledge of quality standards and testing methodologies.
• Understanding of lean manufacturing principles including 5S, Kanban and SMED.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, BOMs, Assembly diagrams.
• Knowledge of quality inspection principles.
• Knowledge of ERP systems; knowledge of IFS is an asset.
• Willing to work shift work if required.
• Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Knowledge of welding inspection is an asset.
• Knowledge of sampling plan and statistical process control is an asset.
• Must be eligible to meet the requirements of export control regulations, including the Canadian Controlled Goods Program and Canadian government security requirements.
