The University of Calgary seeks a Team Lead for Parking Maintenance and Operations Services. You will lead a hands-on team responsible for maintenance, asset management, and modernizing payment technologies across campus.
Reporting to the Director, you will guide SOPs, preventive maintenance, and enhancements in pay stations, access control, and parking infrastructure while ensuring safety, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
Parking and Transportation within AVP Strategy Enterprise Comm is currently seeking a Full-time Regular Team Lead, Maintenance and Operation Services.
Reporting to the Director, Parking and Transportation Services, the Team Lead, Parking Maintenance and Operations Services provides hands-on leadership for parking maintenance, operations, asset management, and technology support. The incumbent will direct work of the team while actively participating in inspections, troubleshooting, repairs, maintenance activities, operational projects, and field work alongside team members.
This is a working leadership position where the incumbent is expected to lead by example, complete operational and maintenance tasks as part of the team and provide technical expertise and guidance to support daily operations. The Team Lead is responsible for ensuring parking infrastructure, equipment, access control systems, parking technologies, pay stations, signage, and related assets are maintained in a safe, reliable, and cost-effective manner.
A key focus of the role is supporting the continued modernization of Parking and Transportation Services by evaluating parking payment infrastructure, including more than 100 pay stations, QR-code-based payment options, mobile payment applications, and customer usage trends. The position is responsible for developing and implementing a long-term strategy to optimize and significantly reduce pay station inventory while maintaining service levels, accessibility, customer satisfaction, and revenue performance.
The Team Lead develops and maintains Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), preventative maintenance programs, asset inventories, and operational standards that support service reliability, operational efficiency, and continuous improvement.
Success in this role requires maintaining a strong collaborative working relationship with the Manager, Parking and Transportation Services, ensuring regular communication, effective coordination of operational priorities, alignment of departmental initiatives, and seamless support of maintenance, operational, and modernization objectives across the parking portfolio.
