The Team Lead, HR Application Engineer will be responsible for building and maintaining HR technology platforms, enabling software to be deployed and run independently by teams across the organization. In this role, you will support the configuration and solution design of application modules that are easy to maintain and change, enabling a pace of constant delivery to the business. This individual will collaborate with internal and third-party developers and partners, achieving project success through continued attention to technical excellence, and championing the use of automation wherever available. Recommendations made by this individual result in changes in methods, processes, system configurations, and operating procedures. The Team Lead will work with a focus on creating value, delivering exceptional customer stories, and business results.
What You'll Do :
- Lead the configuration and customization of Workday modules, including HCM, Payroll, Compensation, Absence, and Talent Management, to align with organizational policies and processes.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather and analyze requirements, translating them into scalable and efficient Workday solutions. Partner with HR and other business leaders to meet evolving requirements, supporting requirements gathering, design, configuration, and testing to improve employee experience and operations.
- Design and propose innovative solutions within the Workday platform to address complex business challenges, ensuring adherence to best practices and compliance standards. Understand data mapping and data flow within supported systems.
- Manage end-to-end implementation projects, including system integration, data migration, testing, and design/build of system integrations, while identifying issues and risks and monitoring system performance.
- Continuously evaluate and optimize existing Workday configurations to enhance system performance, user experience, and data integrity.
- Provide expert-level support and troubleshooting for Workday-related issues, collaborating with cross-functional teams and vendors to resolve issues, and recommending system solutions for adoption.
- Lead, develop, and maintain reports and calculated fields utilizing Workday and additional data sources to support reporting needs, including end-user reporting configuration.
- Develop documentation, user guides, and training materials to support end-users and facilitate knowledge sharing. Maintain detailed HRIS documentation for internal and external stakeholders.
- Stay updated on Workday updates, releases, and industry trends, proactively identifying opportunities to leverage new features to enhance business processes.
- Lead biannual Workday system releases (R1 and R2), including testing, adoption, and impact analysis.
- Support testing activities throughout the QA lifecycle, developing test cases and scripts, and assisting the QA team.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Let's Talk About You :
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field; Master’s preferred.
- At least 6 years of experience configuring and implementing Workday solutions, especially HCM and related modules.
- Workday HCM certification is preferred.
- Proven expertise in Workday configuration, including business process configuration, security, report writing, and integrations.
- Deep understanding of Workday systems and their support for business operations.
- In-depth knowledge of HR processes and best practices.
- Strong consulting, analytical, project management, problem-solving, and influencing skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams.
- Experience leading Workday implementation projects from start to finish.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities.
- Superior knowledge of HR system architecture and Workday integrations.
