We are involved in over 18,000 projects and counting – improving lives and helping shape the growth of sustainable, progressive, and inclusive communities.

Your role

Join our Northern Canada Team as a Team Lead.

This leadership role offers an opportunity for the right candidate to grow a service business aligned with their personal and cultural values, reflecting the needs of the communities we serve. We seek an aspiring, self-motivated, and collaborative Team Lead to lead our team of experts in Interior BC. You will empower and support senior project managers, project managers, and assistant project managers.

In this role, you’ll work closely with clients to provide strategic advice and contribute to projects that improve access to housing, clean drinking water, education, and community infrastructure. Our team is dedicated to enhancing community outcomes while fostering reconciliation, economic participation, climate resilience, and environmental stewardship. Join us in making a tangible difference and shaping a better future for communities.

Responsibilities
  • Contribute to the annual Business Unit business plan and budget. Manage human resources, motivate, coach, and inspire your team to develop and achieve targets and goals.
  • Deploy internal resources, track team utilization, and ensure team members can manage workloads while engaging in professional development activities.
  • Be accountable for client satisfaction with a client-centric approach.
  • Maintain contact with existing and prospective clients, responding to business development and sales opportunities with support from the Business Development Team, Principal, or Regional Vice President.
  • Advise a variety of client groups in the public and private sectors, including Indigenous governing bodies, community groups, local authorities, and government entities.
  • Establish a presence in the Colliers community, both locally and online.
  • Build and implement a culture of account management and quality.
  • Manage your team’s financial performance, partner with the Business Development team to grow the local market, and aim to increase sales and fee income by 15% annually. Build and train your team to generate cross-line selling opportunities.
  • Implement corporate initiatives related to engagement, diversity, and inclusion.
  • Participate in performance management and recruitment activities to ensure team performance and goal achievement, with support from senior leadership.
Qualifications
  • At least six years of experience leading project management teams in delivering professional services.
  • Leadership or people management experience, overseeing small, local, or virtual teams.
  • A university degree or diploma in business administration, commerce, finance, engineering, architecture, construction management, or equivalent experience.
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills, with the ability to influence and resolve client, project, and technical issues.
  • Knowledge of construction methodologies, project management models, financial management, building codes, contract law, and legislation.
  • A desire to grow the business in the local market and expand the team to meet growth targets.
  • Understanding of the professional services business model and workforce strategies.
  • Industry credentials such as PMP, P.Eng., CET, RA, or similar are assets.
  • Experience working respectfully in cross-cultural settings, including building relationships with Indigenous communities, is preferred.
  • Experience in building long-term client relationships and working with Indigenous governing bodies and local authorities is a strong asset.

Approximate Base Salary Range: $115,000 CAD to $140,000 CAD. Salary is determined by role, level, location, skills, experience, and education. Bonuses are in addition to base salary.
