Job summary

Ontario Health atHome is seeking an organized, detail-oriented administrative support professional in Timmins. You will assist Care Coordinators, process referrals, and manage patient records with accuracy in a dynamic environment.

Strong data-entry skills and proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and database software are required. English and French fluency is essential, with the ability to work days, evenings and weekends. Vaccination status is mandatory before start date.

Qualifications

  • Grade 12 diploma (minimum)
  • Experience providing clerical support in a computerized office
  • Accurate keyboarding/data-entry skills
  • Proficient with MS Word, Excel and other Windows applications
  • Excellent organization and ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Advanced multitasking with ability to meet goals
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and teamwork with diverse clients
  • Fluent in English and French (written and verbal) essential
  • Flexibility to work days, evenings and weekends
  • COVID-19 vaccination status required before start date

Responsibilities

  • Answer high volume of calls from patients, families, and service providers
  • Provide backup support to other positions as needed

Job description

What will you do?
  • Provide administrative support services to Care Coordinators
  • Process new referrals, and orders for services, supplies and equipment
  • Process and assist in managing confidential patient records
  • Enter, update and maintain a high volume of patient data in the electronic database
  • Answer a high volume of telephone inquiries from patients, families and service providers, and refer callers as appropriate
  • Provide back-up support to other positions, as required

What must you have?

  • A Grade 12 diploma (minimum)
  • Relevant experience providing clerical support services in a computerized office environment
  • Accurate keyboarding/data-entry skills
  • Proficient with database software, MS Word and Excel, and other applications in a Windows environment
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Advanced multi-tasking skills, with the ability to meet performance and service goals
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to work as part of a team and interact tactfully and sensitively with patients from wide-ranging cultural, ethnic and socio-economic backgrounds
  • Advanced oral and written proficiency in English and in French is essential.
  • Flexibility to work a schedule that includes days, evenings and weekends to meet organizational needs
  • We have a mandatory COVID-19 vaccination policy. As a condition of employment, all employees are required to submit proof of COVID-19 vaccination status prior to start date

Bilingual candidates with advanced oral and written proficiency in English and French will be given first consideration; however, less qualified candidates who don’t meet the language requirements may still be considered

What would give you the edge?
  • A college diploma in the health or social services field, or business/office administration
  • Familiarity with medical terminology, and office administrative procedures/concepts
  • Knowledge of services provided by Home and Community Care Support Services
  • Ability to speak French or another second language
