Job summary

First Nation School Board - Yukon in Watson Lake is seeking a Teacher on Call to support Watson Lake Secondary School by providing flexible instructional coverage for designated learning areas.

The role focuses on building authentic relationships with students, families and local Elders, and integrating Yukon First Nation culture and language into classroom activities to empower learners.

Home to the Liard First Nation people, Watson Lake Secondary School is one of 11 Yukon schools that have joined the newly established First Nation School Board (FNSB) in the Yukon. Dene Zāgé'- Kaska is the traditional language of the Liard First Nation people.

Qualifications and Experience

• High School Diploma, or equivalent experience
• Experience working with school aged students is preferred

• Ability to work collaboratively and maintain an authentic relationship with the local Yukon First Nation people, community members, community Elders, and families, promoting greater community involvement in school-based activities and educational programming;
