Job summary

Kativik Ilisarniliriniq (KI) in Laval seeks a Teacher – General Education for adult education and vocational training. The role covers English, math, history, geography and biology, with ESL experience an asset, under a 400-hour replacement contract from February to May 2026, possibly renewable.

Qualifications include a Teacher’s Certificate or B.Ed, with MEES program knowledge and Moodle familiarity preferred.

Qualifications

• Teacher’s Certificate or B.Ed required, preferably with a major in remedial education, andragogy, English – second language or English – mother tongue.
• Experience in adult education and literacy teaching is required.
• Experience in multi-level classes and teaching English, math, history, geography, biology.

Responsibilities

• Teach English, mathematics, history, geography and biology to adults.
• Instruct English as a second language; adapt to multi-level classes.
• Follow MEES programs and participate in continuous training.

SALARY:FROM $52,799 TO $102,857 DEPENDING ON EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

STATUS:REPLACEMENT CONTRACT 400 HOURS

DURATION: February to May 2026 (WITH A POSSIBILITY OF RENEWAL)

QUALIFICATIONS:

Teacher’s Certificate / B. Education, preferably with a major in one of the following subjects: remedial education, andragogy, English – second language or English – mother tongue.

The Board may, at its discretion, waive any or all of the afore-mentioned qualification requirements if it finds a suitable candidate who is a beneficiary of the James Bay and Northern Québec Agreement and who accepts, as a condition of employment, to follow a training plan determined by the Board

REQUIREMENTS:

• Experience in adult education.
• Experience in literacy teaching.
• Experience in multi-level classes.
• Experience in teaching the following subjects: English, mathematics, history, geography, biology.
• Experience in teaching English as a second language would be an asset

ASSETS:

• Knowledge and teaching of the MEES programs.
• Experience in teaching English and French as a second language.
• Knowledge of the Moodle platform.

CLASSIFICATION / SALARY / BENEFITS:

Salary & benefits as per the Teachers Collective Agreement of the Board: from $52,799 to $102,857 annually depending on experience and qualifications. All benefits are prorated based on the percentage of the task.
