Kativik Ilisarniliriniq (KI) invites applications for a CONTRACTUAL 400-hour position as a Teacher – Bilingual Math and Sciences in Kuujjuaq. The role runs from September to December 2026 with a potential renewal, and offers salary per the Teachers Collective Agreement.

Candidates should hold a Teacher’s Certificate or B.Ed, ideally with a major in Mathematics or Sciences, and have experience in adult education, literacy, and multi-level classes. Knowledge of MEES programs is an asset.

Qualifications

• Teacher’s Certificate or B. Education required; major in Mathematics or Sciences preferred.
• Board may waive requirements for James Bay and Northern Québec Agreement beneficiaries with training plan.
• Experience in adult education and literacy teaching is desired.
• Experience with multi-level classes and with Microsoft Suite is required; experience teaching in a second language environment is an asset.

SALARY: FROM $54,119 TO $105,432 DEPENDING ON EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

Qualifications

Teacher’s Certificate / B. Education, preferably with a major in one of the following subjects: Mathematics, Sciences.

The Board may, at its discretion, waive any or all the afore-mentioned qualification requirements if it finds a suitable candidate who is a beneficiary of the James Bay and Northern Québec Agreement and who accepts, as a condition of employment, to follow a training plan determined by the Board

Requirements

• Experience in adult education.
• Experience in literacy teaching.
• Experience in multi-level classes.
• Experience in teaching the following subjects: Mathematics, sciences and the Microsoft Suite
• Experience teaching in a second language environment would be an asset

Assets

• Knowledge and teaching of the MEES programs.

Classification / Salary / Benefits

Salary & benefits as per the Teachers Collective Agreement of the Board: from $54,119 to $105,432 annually depending on experience and qualifications. All benefits are prorated based on the percentage of the task.
