Job summary

Baker Tilly Canada is looking for a full-time Tax Technician to join our Calgary team. In this role, you will work collaboratively with a dynamic group of professionals, focusing on trust investment bookkeeping and tax return preparations.

Your primary responsibilities will include:
  • Investment bookkeeping for trusts and estates
  • Preparation of trust and estate tax returns
  • Preparation of capital dividend elections
  • Preparation of T4 and T5 slips
  • Preparation of personal tax returns
  • Preparation of the election forms
  • Preparation of responses to CRA processing review and audit requests
  • Assist with calculations as needed
A successful candidate will have:
  • 2-3 years prior tax season experience (minimum)
  • 2-3 years public practice accounting experience (minimum)
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with commitment to client service and teamwork
  • Strong desire and dedication to work, learn, and thrive in a fast passed, innovative, and dynamic environment
  • Excellent communication and analytical skills
  • Self-motivation and a strong work ethic with an ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Sound judgment regarding confidential and sensitive matters
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills

Your schedule: Monday to Friday

Where you'll work: Calgary, AB

Working Conditions: You will be expected to work in a hybrid office environment at our Calgary office. During peak periods, there might be a requirement to work overtime to meet project deadlines and support team needs.
