Job summary

Baker Tilly Canada is seeking an experienced Accounting Data Advisor in Calgary to drive meaningful outcomes for our clients. You'll prepare financial statements, maintain ledgers, and manage bookkeeping tasks while collaborating with a dedicated team.

Qualifications

  • At least 2 years' experience in full cycle bookkeeping procedures.
  • Tech stack experience including integration of apps considered an asset.
  • Experience in preparation of Notice to Reader statements would be an asset.

Your primary responsibilities will include:
  • Prepare and analyze financial statements and reports
  • Maintain general ledgers and reconcile accounts
  • Post journal entries and update client accounting software
  • Handle bookkeeping, bank deposits, A/P, and client payments
  • Prepare T4s, GST, and other compliance returns
  • Maintain financial records and bookkeeping files
  • Generate accounting reports
  • Perform clerical tasks as needed
  • Collaborate with peers and management on file planning and deadlines
  • Provide attentive, personalized client service
What you bring to the table:

The successful candidate will have:

  • at least 2 years’ experience in full cycle bookkeeping procedures
  • payroll designation & experience considered an asset
  • 2 years’ experience in Bookkeeping
  • 2 years’ experience in QuickBooks Online is required
  • Tech Stack experience including integration of apps is considered an asset
  • Experience and proficiency with Microsoft Office, and QuickBooks online are required
  • experience in preparation of Notice to Reader statements would be an asset
  • experience in the management of multiple government contracts and knowledge of Provincial and Federal financial reporting requirements would be an asset
  • an understanding of the Provincial and Federal bidding systems
  • excellent computer skills and willingness to upgrade such skills, as required
In addition to these, the ideal candidate will have:
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and shifting priorities
  • Strong time management and workflow planning
  • Effective oral and written communication
  • Proficient in Windows XP, Excel, Word; strong analytical and math skills
  • Knowledge of CRA regulations, labor standards, WCB, and GST
  • Excellent interpersonal, administrative, and organizational skills
  • Familiarity with FOIP and handling confidential information
  • Proven problem-solving abilities
Technical Skills:

Experience with CaseWare, iFirm, Practice Engine and Karbon are considered an asset.
