The Role
Supporting a growing, publicly listed digital infrastructure and technology company, the Tax Manager will lead tax compliance, provision, and planning activities across a multi-entity, international structure.
Key Responsibilities
- Tax Compliance & Reporting: Prepare and file corporate income tax returns, sales tax filings (GST, QST, VAT, and Sales & Use Tax), and withholding tax submissions across North America. Lead the preparation and review of tax provisions (current and deferred) for financial statement reporting in accordance with US GAAP and local GAAP standards. Monitor global tax law changes and serve as the main contact for external tax audits. Review and improve tax compliance processes in line with SOX and internal controls.
- Tax Planning & Advisory: Develop strategic tax initiatives, advise on tax implications of transactions, and collaborate on corporate tax strategy to optimize processes and mitigate risks.
- Transfer Pricing Management: Oversee transfer pricing policies, ensure proper documentation, and validate income and expense allocations across entities.
- Collaboration & Project Support: Liaise with auditors and legal counsel, contribute to financial close activities, and participate in ad hoc projects.
Qualifications & Skills
- CPA designation required; In-Depth Tax Program preferred.
- Minimum 4 years of tax experience in a multinational or public accounting firm.
- Strong knowledge of Canadian tax laws; U.S. and international tax knowledge highly valued.
- Experience with tax provisions, managing tax for consolidated entities, and proficiency in tax software and ERP systems.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Fluent in English; French is an asset.
- Proactive, organized, team-oriented, with willingness to travel occasionally.
