EY in Toronto is seeking a Tax Litigation Senior Associate to join a leading practice. You will represent clients in federal and provincial tax disputes, advise through audits and litigation, and manage complex tax matters from start to finish. Qualifications

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in income tax, sales tax, and other tax areas with a focus on tax litigation.
  • Proven track record in managing complex tax litigation cases and deep understanding of Canadian tax systems.
  • Member in good standing of the Law Society of your province of residence.
  • Proficiency in English.

  • Represent clients in tax controversy and dispute resolution before federal and provincial authorities.
  • Advise clients throughout audits, objections, appeals, and litigation processes.
  • Prepare and review notices of objection, written representations, settlement proposals, and other litigation documents.
  • Support and lead management of tax litigation files before the Tax Court of Canada, Federal Court, and other tribunals.
  • Lead complex tax litigation mandates and oversee case strategy from audit through to resolution.
  • Manage multiple engagements, budgets, and project teams with high-quality deliverables.
  • Build and strengthen relationships with key clients, government authorities, and external advisers.
  • Support practice growth through business development and market visibility.

Your key responsibilities

  • Represent clients in tax controversy and dispute resolution matters involving federal and provincial tax authorities.
