Job summary

The Alberta Electric System Operator (AESO) is responsible for the safe, reliable, and economic planning and operation of the Alberta Interconnected Electric System. We offer a hybrid work environment with in-office days on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, and flexible work on Monday and Friday.

Responsibilities

  • Work with internal AESO teams to advance connection projects, ensuring ISO tariff is followed and costs allocated accurately.
  • Review and process customer requests for waivers.
  • Monitor and analyze customer data for reporting and reassessment.
  • Support tariff design changes and internal tariff processes.
  • Build relationships with internal teams to understand their interactions with the ISO tariff.
  • Support other deliverables as required.

The Alberta Electric System Operator (AESO) is responsible for the safe, reliable, and economic planning and operation of the Alberta Interconnected Electric System. We support a hybrid work environment, where the team is in the office on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. Mondays and Fridays are flexible for where you work best.

Accountabilities include:
  • Work with internal AESO teams to advance connection projects. This includes ensuring that the ISO tariff is being followed and applied properly, and reviewing how project costs are allocated for accuracy.
  • Review and process customer requests for waivers.
  • Monitor and analyze customer data for reporting and reassessment.
  • Support the design side of our team by implementing changes to the tariff, and designing internal tariff processes.
  • Build relationships with internal teams to understand their unique perspectives and interactions with the ISO tariff.
  • Support other deliverables, as required.

You have:
  • An undergraduate degree in engineering, business, economics, mathematics or equivalent, or experience equivalent to a degree or designation.
  • Minimum of 2 years of professional working experience.
  • Understanding of the electric utilities would be an asset.
