Job summary

Chemtrade in Thorold, Ontario is seeking a Tanker Driver to join our team on a full‑time basis. You will load, transport, and unload chemicals, complete required paperwork, and ensure safe operation of the tanker fleet.

Applicants must have a CDL Class A with hazmat and tanker endorsements (US) or AZ with TDG Training (Canada). A clean driving record and ability to pass medical exam are required; training and overtime are provided.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of recent tractor/tanker experience.
• Minimum 1 year of tanker experience.
• Must have CDL Class A with hazmat and tanker endorsements (US) or AZ with TDG Training (Canada).
• A clean driving record for the past 3 years.
• Be physically qualified to drive a motor vehicle and provide a valid medical card.
• Be able to provide proof of experience or training to operate the type of motor vehicle used by Chemtrade safely.

Responsibilities

• Load, transfer, and unload raw product from a tanker truck.
• Transport and unload chemicals into customers’ tanks with required paperwork.
• Safely handle hoses during loading and unloading.
• Perform pre and post-trip inspections.
• Comply with all company, customer, federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
• Become familiar with plant operating procedures.
• Other duties as assigned.

Tanker Driver (Active Vacancy)

Primary Location: Thorold, ON

Shift: Full-time - 40 hours per week

Reports to: Regional Driver Manager

Compensation: $30/hr CAD + Benefits (Overtime paid for any time worked over 8 hours in a day)

In This Role, You Will

• Load, transfer, and unload raw product from a tanker truck
• Transport and unload chemicals into customers’ tanks safely and with the required paperwork
• Safely handle hoses during loading and unloading
• Perform pre and post-trip inspections
• Comply with all Company, Customer Federal, State, and Local laws, rules and regulations
• Become familiar with plant operating procedures
• Other duties as assigned

A Successful Candidate Has

• Minimum of two (2) years of recent tractor/tanker experience
• Minimum one (1) year of recent tanker experience
• Must have a valid Commercial Driver's License, CDL Class A, with appropriate hazmat and tanker endorsements (US-specific) or an AZ license with TDG Training (Canada-specific)
• A clean driving record for the past three (3) years
• Be physically qualified to drive a motor vehicle and provide a valid medical card
• Be able to provide proof of experience or training to operate the type of motor vehicle used by Chemtrade safely

• Employee must frequently sit, stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to climb stairs/ladders (including vertical)
