Job description

What you'll be doing

Across our Canadian businesses, the skills our people need continue to evolve. We already have a strong foundation of learning programs, career resources and development initiatives. The next step is to bring these elements closer to the realities of each business and ensure they support both today’s priorities and tomorrow’s workforce needs.

As Talent Development Partner, you will create that connection. You will work closely with business leaders, HR partners and subject-matter experts to understand their priorities, identify capability needs and translate them into practical learning paths and development initiatives. You will bring forward recommendations, build on what is already in place and take ownership of initiatives from strategy through implementation.

Your work will contribute to strategic workforce planning, early-career development, career growth, succession and knowledge transfer. By listening to the business and staying connected to evolving talent and learning practices, you will help employees grow in their current roles, prepare for future opportunities and continue building their careers across our Canadian organization.

Learning Strategy and Business Partnership
  • Build strong relationships with leaders, HR teams and subject-matter experts across our Canadian businesses to understand their priorities, workforce challenges and capability needs.
  • Translate business needs and strategic workforce plans into practical learning paths, development programs and talent initiatives.
  • Bring forward informed recommendations that connect business priorities, employee development and relevant Talent Development practices.
Program Design and Delivery
  • Lead learning and development initiatives from needs assessment and design through implementation and continuous improvement.
  • Strengthen existing programs and develop solutions that support early-career development, career growth, succession and knowledge transfer.
  • Deploy global programs across Canada, adapting them to local business needs and employee populations.
  • Coordinate stakeholders and contributors across a matrixed organization, creating alignment and driving delivery without direct authority.
Innovation, Measurement and Impact
  • Use emerging learning practices, technology and AI to improve the relevance, accessibility and effectiveness of development initiatives.
  • Measure participation, program effectiveness and talent outcomes, using data and stakeholder feedback to guide improvements.
  • Communicate insights, results and recommendations clearly to HR and business leaders.
What you bring
  • A bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Organizational Psychology, Business, Education or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and professional experience.
  • A background in Talent Development, Learning and Development, Talent Management or Organizational Development.
  • Demonstrated success assessing business and capability needs, designing learning solutions and moving initiatives from strategy through implementation.
  • Business acumen and a practical approach to translating workforce priorities into development solutions.
  • A proven capacity to build trusted relationships, influence stakeholders and drive cross-functional work within a matrixed organization.
  • Sound knowledge of learning methodologies, program design and talent practices.
  • Proficiency in using data, dashboards and stakeholder insights to evaluate outcomes and inform recommendations.
  • Effective communication, collaboration, project management and organizational skills.
  • An interest in emerging learning practices, digital technologies and AI, combined with the judgment to apply them meaningfully.

We recognize that skills and competencies can be developed through a variety of experiences, both professional and personal. Even if you don't meet every single requirement listed, we still encourage you to apply. Your unique background and perspective could be exactly what we're looking for.
