Job summary

Specsavers Canada is seeking an experienced Talent & Development Manager to design, implement, and improve our learning and development offerings across the organization. You will partner with HR and business leaders to identify capability gaps and build development solutions.

This role is in its early growth phase within the Canada office, blending strategic design with hands-on facilitation, both in-person and virtual, and shaping our future people development.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years in Talent Development or related roles within mid-to-large organizations.
  • Proven ability to build relationships and influence senior leaders.
  • Experience with LMS design, administration, and system management.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and continuously improve learning programs.
  • Maintain learning calendars and align content with business needs.
  • Partner with global teams to adapt frameworks for Canada.
  • Facilitate virtual and in-person workshops and leadership programs.
  • Coach employees and leaders to foster growth and capability building.
  • Develop learning materials, job aids, and e-learning content.
  • Administer LMS and reporting to measure outcomes and impact.

Location: This hybrid role requires 3 days on-site at our Burnaby, BC office and 2 days remote per week.

What You’ll Do

We are seeking an experienced Talent & Development (T&D) Manager to partner with the Head of Talent & Development to design, implement, and continuously improve our learning and development offerings across the organization. The T&D Manager will work closely with the HR team, and business leaders to identify capability gaps, build development solutions, and foster a culture of learning across Specsavers.

This role is apart of a team at its early stages of growth, helping shape the future of people development within the Specsavers Canada office. It will be a combination of strategic design, coordination, and execution. The ideal candidate is someone that is excited about managing our development offerings, being in the details, and skilled in F2F & virtual facilitation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and continuously enhance learning and development programs for support office employees, including global and locally developed offerings.
  • Maintain the annual learning calendar, ensuring content remains relevant, current, and aligned with business needs across all employee levels.
  • Partner with global Talent & Development teams to adapt and optimize learning frameworks, programs, and resources for the Canadian business.
  • Facilitate engaging virtual and in-person workshops, leadership programs, and learning experiences, working with internal stakeholders and external providers.
  • Provide coaching and development support to employees and leaders to foster career growth and capability building.
  • Develop and maintain learning materials, job aids, guides, and e-learning content.
  • Coordinate learning logistics and administration, including scheduling, registrations, communications, participant tracking, and onboarding programs.
  • Partner with leaders, HR Business Partners, and global stakeholders to identify capability gaps and recommend effective learning solutions.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor on learning and development practices, tools, and employee development initiatives.
  • Support the implementation, adoption, and ongoing administration of the Learning Management System (LMS) and other learning technologies.
  • Manage learning administration and reporting, including maintaining accurate learning records, tracking participation and program effectiveness, and developing reporting and insights that measure learning outcomes and business impact.
  • Use learning data, participant feedback, and business outcomes to continuously improve learning experiences and development offerings.
  • Contribute to broader People & Organization initiatives, departmental priorities, and people strategy projects.
What We’re Looking For
  • 5+ years of experience in a Talent Development, Learning & Development, Organizational Development, or similar role within a mid-to-large-sized organization.
  • Proven ability to build relationships, engage and influence senior leaders, identify development needs, and recommend effective talent and development solutions.
  • Experience with LMS program design, administration, and system management.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and presentation skills, with strong written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Experience facilitating learning programs and workshops for a variety of audiences and organizational levels.
  • Strong organizational and coordination skills, with intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint.
  • Experience in instructional design and learning program development is considered an asset.
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Development, Adult Education, or a related field is considered an asset.
  • Coaching certification, coach training, or related coaching experience is considered an asset.
Compensation

$110,000 - $125,000 base salary, plus quarterly bonus, profit sharing, and benefits. Actual compensation will be determined based on experience
