Job summary

York is seeking a Talent Acquisition Specialist to support the People & Culture Manager in executing recruitment for its construction and manufacturing workforce, focusing on skilled trades, site, and plant roles. You will manage requisitions, build talent pipelines, and bring Alberta labour market knowledge to the team.

As part of York Realty’s Shared Services, you will support multiple companies across the Group, requiring a customer-service mindset to ensure client alignment and satisfaction

Qualifications

• Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Business, Humanities or the equivalent experience in a related field.
• 5–8 years of full-cycle recruitment experience, with a focus on construction, skilled trades, or manufacturing roles.
• Proven success filling high-volume and hard-to-fill trades and labour roles.
• Driven and confident, with a high comfort level cold calling candidates.
• Relationship-focused, building trust with candidates and hiring teams.
• Open to learning and coaching, and willing to adapt to York’s recruitment approach.
• Strong sourcing skills, including cold calling, LinkedIn Recruiter, and Boolean search.
• Experiential knowledge of the Alberta trades landscape, including apprenticeship, journeyperson, and Red Seal certifications.

Responsibilities

• Manage full-cycle recruitment across the York Group (Realty, Construction, Precast, and shared partners).
• Proactively source candidates through cold calling, job boards, LinkedIn, and referrals.
• Build active talent pipelines for high-volume, hard-to-fill, and high-turnover roles.
• Attend job fairs, trade school events, and hiring events as assigned.
• Coordinate with external staffing and labour agencies as directed by the People & Culture Manager.
• Deliver a timely, professional candidate experience and a smooth handoff of new hires to onboarding.
• Maintain accurate candidate records in BambooHR and report recruitment metrics.
