Description

Brandt Corporate Services Ltd is currently seeking a Recruiter for our Quebec locations.

The Recruiter/Talent Acquisition Specialist is responsible for proactively identifying, attracting, and securing talent across an assigned area. This position partners closely with hiring managers and operational leaders to understand workforce requirements, develop effective recruitment strategies, build candidate pipelines, and deliver recruitment solutions across a diverse portfolio of positions.

This is a hands on talent acquisition role with a strong focus on direct sourcing, headhunting, candidate engagement, market intelligence, and hiring manager partnership. The Talent Acquisition Specialist is expected to actively seek talent in the market, build relationships with passive candidates, and identify new talent sources rather than relying primarily on applicants generated through job postings.

This is a full time, onsite position based at a Brandt location within the assigned area and requires regular travel between Brandt locations and participation in internal and external recruitment events.

Who We Are

Brandt is a customer driven company, privately owned and family run, strengthened by diversification and succeeding through specialization. We operate over 170 locations across Canada, the USA, Australia, and New Zealand.

For nine decades, the people of Brandt have stood shoulder-to-shoulder with the hardworking people that we serve. And really, there’s no place we’d rather be because just like them, it’s when we’re working hard and getting things done that we’re at our best.

Our success is driven by a passionate belief in the unlimited potential of our company and the ultimate success of our customers and we act on that belief every single day.

That’s Powerful Value, Delivered.

What You Will Be Responsible For

Manage full cycle talent acquisition across an assigned portfolio of positions, locations, and business areas.

Partner with hiring managers and operational leaders to understand current and anticipated staffing requirements and develop targeted recruitment strategies.

Conduct intake discussions to understand position requirements, candidate profiles, business priorities, and market considerations.

Proactively source and headhunt qualified candidates using systems, tools, professional networks, talent databases, referrals, competitor research, and other sourcing methods.

Identify, approach, and engage passive candidates who may not be actively seeking new employment opportunities.

Develop and maintain talent pipelines for critical, specialized, high volume, and difficult to fill positions.

Conduct market and competitor research to identify relevant talent pools, candidate availability, compensation trends, and recruitment challenges.

Provide hiring managers and recruitment leadership with market intelligence and recommendations where candidate availability, compensation, location, or position requirements may impact hiring success.

Manage candidate relationships throughout the recruitment process, maintaining strong communication and engagement from initial contact through offer acceptance.

Build strong relationships with hiring managers and maintain regular communication regarding recruitment activity, candidate pipelines, market conditions, and hiring progress.

Manage multiple vacancies simultaneously across different occupations, business areas, locations, and levels of seniority.

Participate in monthly internal career fairs, promote career opportunities, and support employee career movement across the organization.

Represent Brandt at external career fairs, educational institutions, industry events, community recruitment initiatives, and other talent attraction activities.

Build relationships with colleges, training institutions, professional organizations, and other external talent sources within the assigned area.

Travel regularly between Brandt locations throughout the assigned area to meet with hiring managers, understand branch operations, and support local recruitment requirements.

Maintain accurate and timely recruitment activity, candidate information, and documentation within the applicant tracking system.

Use recruitment data and market information to identify trends, challenges, and opportunities to continuously improve recruitment strategies and results.

What we look for

Minimum 5 years of dedicated talent acquisition or recruitment experience, with demonstrated responsibility for proactive sourcing and full cycle recruitment.

Demonstrated success identifying, approaching, and recruiting passive candidates through direct sourcing and headhunting.

Proven experience developing sourcing strategies and talent pipelines for difficult to fill positions.

Experience managing multiple vacancies across different functions, locations, and levels of seniority.

Strong experience partnering directly with hiring managers and operational leaders to understand business needs and develop effective recruitment solutions.

Demonstrated experience managing compensation discussions, presenting employment offers, and negotiating with candidates.

Strong interviewing, candidate assessment, relationship building, negotiation, and influencing skills.

Experience using professional sourcing platforms, applicant tracking systems, and other recruitment technologies.

Ability to research and understand talent markets, competitor activity, compensation trends, and candidate availability and translate this information into practical recruitment recommendations.

Comfortable representing an organization at internal and external career fairs, networking events, and other talent attraction activities.

Strong organizational skills with the ability to independently manage competing priorities in a fast paced, multi location environment.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to build credibility and trusted relationships with candidates, hiring managers, and operational leaders.

A recognized recruitment or talent acquisition credential, such as Registered Professional Recruiter (RPR), SHRM Talent Acquisition Specialty Credential, or equivalent, is considered an asset.

Valid driver's licence and ability to travel regularly between Brandt locations and recruitment events within the assigned area is a requirement.
