About This Role

Reporting to the Talent Acquisition Manager, the Talent Acquisition Officer will proactively support the recruitment of various roles across various departments and levels at FCM. The post holder will actively participate in recruitment campaigns, showcase FCM as an employer of choice, leverage best practices, and ensure proactive recruitment methods are deployed at FCM to ensure immediate and future talent needs are met. What you’ll be doing
  • Collaborate with Business Partners and Hiring Managers: to understand short-term and long- term talent needs, identify job requirements and competencies needed to meet FCM’s mandate, to gain an understanding of the recruitment needs of the team, ensure that the recruitment campaigns and selection process results in successful recruitments, workforce planning to project recruitment calendar, workflow and proactively plan recruitment campaigns accordingly.
  • Participate in the review of job descriptions and ensure that they accurately reflect the requirements of each role.
  • Leverage professional and social media platforms to create continued interest in job openings at FCM.
  • Prioritize and promote a direct sourcing approach to recruitment at FCM, highlighting FCM’s values and culture at each stage of the process.
  • In partnership with the P&C team: ensure efforts and processes are consistent and streamlined for efficient and timely hiring of candidates, develop standard templates, processes, and guidelines to promote equitable hiring and a positive candidate experience while ensuring that recruitment campaigns reflect FCM’s value proposition, develop processes that continuously improve key recruiting indicators including time to hire, time-to-fill, cost of hire, candidate and hiring manager satisfaction scores, and quality of hires.
  • Contribute to projects geared towards highlighting the employee value proposition at FCM with the aim of attracting and retaining talent.
  • Provide interview support (including coaching) to hiring managers and/or interview panelists (when required) and ensuring best practices are maintained throughout.
  • Promote and maintain the principles of equity, anti-racism and diversity in the recruitment processes in line with FCM’s Anti-Racism, Equity and Inclusion (AREI) commitment.
  • Participate in recruitment events/showcase FCM at virtual or in-person recruitment-related events (e.g. Job/Career fairs, campus recruiting) when needed.
People Leadership

No formal management of staff is generally required for this role however delegation of work may be required to support special projects, on occasion. Manages external relationships as required to support programs and projects.

Knowledge and Experience

3 to 5 years end-to-end recruitment experience across a broad range of business functions and levels ideally in a matrixed or complex environment. Experience in leveraging social media (e.g. LinkedIn, Indeed, Glassdoor) and/or professional platforms, direct sourcing and non-traditional recruitment means to attract and source candidates. In-depth experience using and administrating Applicant Tracking Systems, preferably Workday Experience in Early Talent Hiring, including CoOp Recruiting with post-secondary institutions. Experience in designing and implementing processes that deliver exceptional candidate experience throughout the recruitment process. Experience leading the review and continuous improvement of recruitment processes. Experience in reviewing recruitment procedures through an anti-racist, diversity and equity lens. Demonstrable experience in talent planning in tandem with workforce planning. Excellent work planning, time management, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to collaborate effectively with people from different cultural/diverse backgrounds. Ability to speak, write and communicate in English and French is required. Possession of a high degree of professionalism, integrity, and tact. Ability to maintain discretion and confidentiality.

Specific Working Conditions & Requirements

Hybrid with a typical office environment at the FCM’s offices in Ottawa. This is for an existing position.

Salary Range

Salary Range: $75,577.00 - $85,413.00
