Job summary

GardaWorld is seeking Casual Tactical Security Guards in Red Deer, Alberta. You will protect client assets, tenants and visitors in a professional manner, handling access control, patrols and incident reporting.

Flexible hours and on-site work are available at multiple Red Deer sites. Ideal candidates hold a valid security license, possess strong communication and de-escalation skills, and have customer service experience.

Qualifications

• Valid provincial security guard license
• Flexible availability including overnight shifts
• Advanced telephone skills- engage with callers, handle routine inquiries or requests
• Computer skills- data entry and documentation, create and edit digital records
• Active listening and proactive engagement with others
• Respond effectively to threats or incidents with speed and decisiveness
• Maintain awareness of surroundings and risks
• High school diploma or equivalent (assets)
• Criminal justice or police foundations diploma an asset
• First aid and CPR certification an asset
• Minimum 1 year security guard experience
• Minimum 1 year customer service experience
• Legally entitled to work in Canada

Responsibilities

• Manage difficult or irate callers and de-escalate tense situations
• Engage with customers, employees and visitors on the property
• Regular interior and exterior patrols, ensure doors are secured
• Surveillance of CCTV cameras, alarms, and access control
• Respond to high risk situations with speed and decisiveness
• Attend to security incidents and emergencies promptly
• Document incidents and prepare reports
• Perform fire and life safety checks
