Job summary

GardaWorld is seeking a Tactical Security Guard in Surrey, BC. The role focuses on incident response, access control, emergency procedures, report writing, de‑escalation, and collaboration with federal operations in a mission‑driven environment.

Eligible candidates must hold a BC Security Guard License, have 1+ year of security experience, and may possess OFA1/AST training. Competitive wage and benefits are offered with a 12‑hour shift rotation.

Qualifications

• Valid BC Security Guard License.
• Valid First Aid Level 1 (OFA1) - an asset.
• Advanced Security Training (AST) - an asset.
• Must have resided in Canada for the past 5 years.
• High school diploma or Canadian equivalent (proof of education required).
• Able to pass Public Works Clearance and Vulnerable Sector Check.
• At least 1 year of experience in a security role.
• Demonstrated ability to act decisively in high‑pressure situations.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the protection of individuals, property, and assets within the facility.
• Escort individuals within the premises as necessary to maintain safety and security.
• Demonstrate empathy and compassion while working with individuals under stress.
• Observe and monitor behaviour and report concerns.
• Conduct regular foot patrols - both indoors and outdoors.
• Utilize security software and equipment effectively.
• Conduct frequent wellness checks.
• Generate accurate incident and daily reports.
• Respond swiftly to emergency situations using tactical de‑escalation techniques.
