Job summary

University of Ottawa seeks Teaching Assistants for the course Mécanique des fluides II (MCG3741) at Main Campus in the Winter 2027 term. Two positions available, in-person laboratories, and active student engagement through labs, grading and supervision.

The role requires undergraduate mechanics knowledge, ability to operate standard lab tools, and strong communication. Stipends are hourly and vary by student level, with hours negotiated with the supervisor.

Qualifications

• Completed undergraduate mechanical courses.
• Exceptional knowledge of Free Body Diagrams and engineering mechanics.
• Good knowledge of common engineering materials and manufacturing processes.
• Ability to work with basic hand tools.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Availability in person throughout the course session.
• Availability to proctor the final exam.

Responsibilities

• Provide teaching assistance to the course supervisor.
• Conduct weekly dissection labs with students.
• Set up equipment for labs and demonstrations.
• Consult with students regarding course material.
• Mark assessments and proctor exams as required.
