Job summary

HealthOPM is seeking compassionate Personal Support Workers (PSWs) to join a welcoming retirement home in the Goderich Town area. The role involves assisting residents with personal care, mobility, meals, and daily activities while promoting independence and comfort.

We welcome applicants with PSW certification in Ontario, a clean Vulnerable Sector Check, TB clearance, and CPR/First Aid assets. Excellent communication and reliability are essential for this caregiving environment.

Qualifications

• PSW Certificate from an Ontario program.
• Vulnerable Sector Check completed within 12 months.
• Current TB screening/clearance.
• CPR/First Aid certification is an asset.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Previous experience in retirement or long-term care is an asset.
• Reliable, compassionate, and committed to resident care.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with personal care (bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting).
• Support mobility, transfers, and activities of daily living.
• Provide companionship and emotional support while promoting independence.
• Assist with meals, hydration, and light housekeeping as required.
• Observe and report changes in residents' condition to the care team.
• Maintain documentation and follow individualized care plans.
• Collaborate with nurses and the care team; adhere to infection prevention and safety policies.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist residents with personal care, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting

• Observe and report changes in residents' physical, emotional, or cognitive condition
• Maintain accurate documentation and follow individualized care plans
• Work collaboratively with nurses and the interdisciplinary care team
• Adhere to infection prevention, health and safety, and organizational policies

Qualifications

• Personal Support Worker (PSW) Certificate from a recognized Ontario program
• Valid Vulnerable Sector Check (within the last 12 months)
• Current TB screening/clearance
• Current CPR/First Aid certification is an asset
