About the Client

This permanent opportunity is with a respected, long-established primary care clinic located in the heart of Toronto. The clinic is committed to providing accessible, comprehensive healthcare services in a welcoming, community-focused environment. You ll be joining a supportive team that values excellence in patient care, teamwork, and continuous improvement.

Please note : This is a permanent role. HealthOPM is facilitating the hiring process on behalf of the clinic.

  • Position : Medical Office Assistant (MOA) / Medical Receptionist
  • Location : Roncesvalles / West Toronto area ,
  • Schedule : Monday to Friday, 9 : 00 AM 5 : 00 PM plus 1 Saturday a month
  • Employment Type : Full-time, Permanent
  • Start Date : Immediate

Key Responsibilities

  • Patient Services : Greet and assist patients warmly, creating a friendly and respectful atmosphere.
  • Appointment Coordination : Schedule, confirm, and manage patient appointments using OSCAR EMR.
  • Front Desk Management : Handle incoming phone calls, emails, and patient inquiries promptly and professionally.
  • Medical Records : Accurately update and maintain patient information in the EMR system; familiarity with Apple devices is an asset.
  • Administrative Duties : Perform filing, data entry, and process third-party requests (insurance, legal offices).
  • Billing Support : Assist with third-party billing and invoice preparation according to clinic policies.
  • Inventory Management : Monitor and replenish medical and office supplies; manage vaccine inventory following Public Health protocols.
  • Team Collaboration : Support physicians and healthcare staff to ensure efficient clinic operations.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year of experience in a medical office , family practice , or primary care clinic setting.
  • Proficiency with OSCAR EMR ; experience with Apple computers p referred.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and billing practices is an asset.
