Job summary

Nasdaq, Inc. in Toronto is seeking a Systems Operations Specialist to join our Canadian Equities team. You will monitor production systems, optimize Linux and AWS infrastructure, and collaborate with developers to resolve issues in a fast-paced market environment.

You’ll automate workflows, improve runbooks, and communicate clearly with clients and stakeholders while maintaining reliability and availability. Hybrid work arrangement offered in-office several days a week.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• At least 4 years of experience supporting production systems, cloud infrastructure, or systems operations.
• Strong hands-on experience with AWS and Linux administration, including Red Hat Enterprise Linux and the Linux command line.
• Experience with scripting and automation using Python, Bash, PowerShell, Terraform, or similar tools.
• Strong troubleshooting, communication, and client service skills, with the ability to work effectively in a collaborative and regulated environment.
• Nice to Have Experience supporting real-time, highly available, or business-critical applications.
• Familiarity with monitoring, observability, CI/CD, networking, security, and tools such as Datadog, Grafana, CloudWatch, CloudTrail, or GitLab.
• An interest in capital markets, trading technology, or financial services.

The Role

We’re looking for a Systems Operations Specialist to join our Canadian Equities team in Toronto, reporting to the Manager of Systems Operations. In this role, you’ll help keep our trading platforms stable, reliable, and ready to support clients in a fast-moving market environment. This is a unique opportunity to combine systems operations, market operations, and client support. You’ll fit right in if you’re technically curious, comfortable communicating with clients and internal teams, and energized by solving problems that have a real impact on the Canadian capital markets.

What You’ll Do
