Job summary

L3Harris WESCAM in Waterdown, Ontario invites a Systems Engineering Test Co-op to join the TE team. You'll assist with qualification testing and crafting detailed procedures for hardware and software, reporting results and ensuring verification across engineering disciplines.

Enrollment in a Bachelor’s or Advanced degree in Engineering or Science is required; a 16‑month co‑op is offered with potential extended terms. Strong communication and problem solving are essential.

Qualifications

• Excellent report writing and verbal communication skills.
• Advanced knowledge of MS Office applications.
• Experience with MATLAB, Python, LabVIEW, and C#.
• Ability to work with multiple engineers to coordinate interdepartmental efforts.
• Strong understanding of Mechanical and Electrical engineering.
• Experience with electro-mechanical, optical or laser devices is an asset.
• Ability to track multiple assignments and priorities.
• Strong problem solving skills.

As a subsidiary of L3Harris Technologies and within the Integrated Mission Systems Segment, the WESCAM division develops the most advanced optical sensor and targeting systems for global defense and military sectors, National Security, Search & Rescue and Airborne law enforcement agencies. About the Role

You will have the opportunity to engage with engineers from various departments. Your primary task will be to support systems solutions projects/programs and evaluation of ruggedized Line Replaceable Units (LRU). This role requires someone with an outgoing personality, strong communications skills and attention to detail. Your previous hands-on work experience will be a significant benefit in this role.

Primary Responsibilities

• Support and participate in qualification testing of Wescam Product with the TE team
• Develop, document and execute detailed test procedures for hardware and software functionality
• Write thorough test reports documenting the results of those tests as well as those performed by others
• Organize, coordinate and track compliance status of requirement verification activities
• Use of electronic equipment such as to collect and analyze data for inclustion in reports and to support performance investigations.

Required Capabilities

• Excellent report writing and verbal communication skills
• Advanced knowledge of MS Office applications
• Experience with various programming environments (Matlab, Python, LabVIEW, C#)
• Ability to work with many engineers to coordinate interdepartmental efforts
• Good understanding of both Mechanical and Electrical aspects of Engineering
• Experience with electro-mechanical systems, optic or laser devices is an asset
• Ability to track multiple assignments, manage varying priorities and make consistent progress on tasks independently.
• Strong problem solving skills

Desired Education and Experiences

• Enrollment in a Bachelors or Advanced degree in Engineering or Science program
• Must be able to complete a 16 month Co-Op term with 12 month terms occasionally being available
