Job Description

We tackle the toughest security and technology challenges by developing and delivering mission-critical products and systems for international customers. We deliver Tactical Communication Information Systems (CIS) to Land Forces worldwide. The hardware, software, and systems integration our engineers provide ensure soldiers are never alone and always aware.

We are seeking a Junior System Engineer to join our International TacCIS division at our Calgary location. The successful candidate will be part of a cross-functional team responsible for designing, implementing, and delivering CIS solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze system design and vendor documentation
• Develop and document system designs, use cases, and system interfaces
• Maintain requirements and specifications
• Investigate system defects and raise problem reports
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams across multiple disciplines (Platforms/Development/Systems/Test)
• Support Software Development and System Integration to achieve their deliveries

Qualifications

Skills & Experience

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, social skills, and ability to create consensus among peers and build relationships within teams
• Demonstrated systems thinking behaviors with problem-solving and change implementation skills
• Knowledge of Systems Engineering concepts and processes
• Experience with requirement identification, decomposition, allocation, and verification
• Experience working with various engineering disciplines (mechanical, electrical, safety, test, etc.) to develop requirements specifications
• Broad experience in implementation, integration, and qualification

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical/engineering field

It is required that General Dynamics Mission Systems–Canada be registered with the Canadian Controlled Goods Program and that all employees undergo security assessments.
