Job summary

Moneris is transforming its core infrastructure in a hybrid Toronto-based environment. The Systems Engineer will drive standardized automation, strengthen security baselines, and act as a Level 3 SME across compute, storage, and identity layers.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years in a similar enterprise role.
• Experience moving from manual to IaC with IaC practices.
• Design and manage large server estates in RHEL and Windows Server.
• Hands-on virtualization with VMware vSphere and Nutanix AHV; storage SAN/NAS/HCI.
• Automation with Ansible, PowerShell, Bash, Python, GitHub; familiar with IaC tooling.

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain infrastructure standards aligned to NIST/PCI DSS/CIS.
• Build automation pipelines for hardened Windows/Linux images on Nutanix/AHV, ESXi, and Azure IaaS.
• Apply IaC to standardize provisioning and lifecycle across teams.
• Serve as Level 3 SME for root-cause analysis across the stack.
• Collaborate in ITIL processes for incident, problem, and change management.

Systems EngineerYour Moneris Career – The OpportunityJoin the Platform Services and Systems Administration team as a hands-on Infrastructure Engineer helping design, standardize, automate, and modernize core infrastructure platforms across a large-scale hybrid enterprise environment.This role sits at the center of Moneris' on-premises modernization effort — evolving legacy compute, storage, and virtualization platforms (VMware vSphere, Nutanix AHV, Dell SAN/NAS/HCI) toward a standardized, automated, and secure operating model. You will build reusable automation in Red Hat Ansible, Terraform, Python, Bash, PowerShell, and GitHub, harden Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) and Windows Server images to Center for Internet Security (CIS), National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), and Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) baselines, and act as a Level 3 subject matter expert (SME) across compute, storage, virtualization, and identity layers.
